Patrick Lew is an amateurishly professional punk/neo-grunge musician who performs at churches, outdoor festivals and busks throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Lew’s main love is guitar and singing but he also enjoys playing the bass and sometimes the piano. He has recorded and performed with Band of Asians, London Lights, and of course his own solo project the Patrick Lew Band, among others.

Patrick Lew’s favorite part of the musician’s life is recording and producing new records and jamming with others onstage or in the basement, because it allows him to be creative and showcase his gift of the artist to the local Bay Area scene and relieves any negative moments and turning them into creative yet positively amazing moment. Also, being a musician in today’s digital age can be a lot of fun! Because Patrick Lew is able to do what he loves to do and is most passionate about independently as a musician and artist as his own entrepreneur. He gets to build relationships with other musicians and make a social network of fans through posting his demos and his Patrick Lew Band online!

Patrick Lew has played rhythm and lead guitar, the bass, and sung on numerous recordings, such as Curb Your Wild Life (2009), Let It Rise And Against (2010) and more recently, the idiosyncratic album Murder Bay. He has collaborated with David Arceo, David Hunter, Greg Lynch, Eddie Blackburn, and Jeremy Alfonso, in the Patrick Lew Band and also among many other side projects. His recordings have also been heard in airplay all across America and England through podcasts; online radio stations.

Reviewers have commented favorably on Patrick Lew Band’s free-form style, unconventional sound and loose yet consistent musical abilities. For instance, Larry Ludwick of Soundclick’s Critics Corner wrote: “Unlike many musicians who try to play within boundaries and fail, Patrick does not care or might not recognize the boundaries. I am serious. It’s like a different kind of music. I have an odd tingly feeling that the unexpected is happening.” And professional musician from the UK, Howard Billington wrote: “Patrick has good form, direction, energy, and an ability to beautifully convey organized chaos! A rising star, set to succeed in the music industry!”

Despite his busy music career, Lew makes time to be involved with community organizations. He volunteered for Environment California as a full-time paid canvaser. He also had the privilege to go to Hollywood as a representative of Artist PR Headquarters to further and expand his potential as an artist.

An Asian American native of San Francisco, Patrick Lew studied Philosophy at California State University, East Bay, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in June 2011.

Influential mentors include his college professor Jennifer Eagan, former bandmate and close friend David Arceo and his fiancée and long-time girlfriend Faith Lambright. He is particularly grateful to all the classic rock (The Rolling Stones, The Who, and The Beatles) and grunge bands (Nirvana and Pearl Jam) he grew up idolizing in his childhood, who taught him the importance that pursuing, performing, and recording music solo or in bands should matter most.

Patrick lives in between San Francisco and Antioch in Northern California with his brother Ricky and his parents Winnie and Wilson Lew. And has a long-time relationship with his close friend Faith Lambright and has two cats. When Patrick is not making music, he likes to read, watch movies, hang out with his friends and fiancée Faith, play his Xbox 360, and surf the web.
