You have a good voice….n liked your singing in this song…. I am not going into pronunciation here…. Coz there’s lot of them…. Instead I would suggest you to practice holding breath & where to take breath…. Felt lots of timming issues may due to breath issues…. These are very minute things…. Specially pronunciation…. n regarding mixing & editing you can take advise from Pradip or George…. They are the mixing gurus here…… 5/5 from me on singing the song so sweetly…… Voice seemed to be loud as mentioned above & dry…. use a lil reverb so that it gels with the track a lil bit…. You will gradually get used to it….as time goes on…. Very good try…. Keep it up….

You have a very nice voice, Padmini. As our friends mentioned above, the vocals was much louder than the karaoke.
Correct mixing and giving some reverb effect to the vocals would have made it sound much better.

This posting definitely is a first step to uncover your full potential. Your voice very well suits the feel. There are a few timing issues, which are not very obvious. I would suggest you to get a nice microphone and a good recording software. Probably you can get audacity, its free….

Firstly, let me tell you… You got a GREAT voice…. very very nice one….
and you sing with a lot of feel….

there are a few things you need to work on, though…… hindi diction, timing, and pitching (at times)…. and finally, the mixing….

You’ve sung this well for the most part. There were a few pitchy portions that need to be worked on, but overall it was good. But the recording really needs to improve. I would suggest you look into that aspect.

Hi Padmini Priya,

Wonderful singing and feel to the song. You are good singer for sure. Do some breathing exercises to get more control on breath.

Pay heed to all the advice on the learning pointers mentioned by all above. I am also in the learning mode like you with respect to mixing and singing different genre of songs :)

Read the articles on mixing by George in his block, that will help you a lot and also check out songs from George, Meera, Rashmi Di, Neha and Sreeharshan to start with to check the balance/equilibrium of volume between backing track and your voice. (there are many other experts also soon you will know)

You have the voice and these things will come to you in time. Also put a little more expressions into your song. Your voice when it will be expressive will touch the realms of divinity.

A request to you to sing the song ‘Sajna’ it will suit your voice a lot and will be a smash hit in your voice, just focus on more expressions, you already have the divine feel in the voice.

Padmini ….listening to your song again. You have a nice husky voice which REALLY suits this song. More than the minor offs, I felt some minor timing issues at the beginning ….but this is a wonderful start ….keep it up !!

Padmini,
Very good singing for the most part. Your vocal volume is louder than the BGM and can be reduced. Some phrases need to be sustained a bit longer to improve the flow of the song. Your voice is very good – sing more often and you will figure out the mixing and other nuances over time.

Great effort, as everyone has suggested
the following things are required of a decent recording.

Good sound card – Unfortunately the one that comes with the laptop/desktop wont do. You can get good USB based audio interface for a decent price.

Good Microphone with pop filter depending on your budget…

Recording software – you can use Audacity which is free… Or you can go for Magix its cheap compared to other expensive one.
