I guess this is the kinda tune that grows on people over time. For some reason I felt the singer cud have done it better. I am musically a bit challenged, so there’s good chance that I am wrong. But in all, I love the peace that you bring to all your compositions.

You have bettered yourself with this number. I loved the composition and arrangement. Though the background track tends to overpower the voice at crescendos.
I have a few comments on Lokesh’s singing –
He has a very good voice texture and sung this song beautifully.
Nitin, after the “alaap” at about 4 minute mark the “sudden change” sounds like a perdendo followed by a strong accent and is not very pleasing. I was expecting (really I was) a kind of sudden change that A R Rahman does in the Airtel commercial. You are that good!
I am not an expert and I am not judging you. I am a fan and just want you to make better and better and better music. :)

First time here and felt so divine during the whole period of my stay. Loved your composition / arrangements and mixing. Lokesh has a beautiful voice, and he has done a good job with the song. I don’t know whether you wanted the song to have end notes half finished or is it his style, I am not a big fan of that. It is as if the listener has to figure out the space and fill the blanks by reading the lyrics. But overall I would give 5/5.

This song is one of the best I’ve given my ears to. Lokesh is marvellous. Nitin’s composition is unbelievable. This song is a super-healer. Alaap at the end is a fitting icing on the cake. This song ends too soon, always leaving me yearning for more :(

This is fantastic. Lokesh’s beautiful voice has finally found a superb composer in Nitin. The tune is decently complex and rendering and overall effect is awesome.

Nitin….this really has that very “goan” or “eclectic” feel to it….

did you use a yamaha for this ? does sound like it…the composition is really great
somethin on the lines of Mr & Mrs Iyer , Being Cyrus…those kind of movies….great stuff
somehow i really felt the drums could ve been softer…it was a little harsh….
the drum beats are fine but the drum “kit” could change good stuff !!

Nitin let me tell you i am really a fan of your stuff ! i love the orchestral complexity you bring to your compositions…its really mature !! think it ll take me another 2 – 3 years to reach there lol ! good stuff

The good thing about your compositions and I learnt that from you is don’t care about Rhyming and Fitting the Lyrics in the Tune……

I guess I should try to write first soulful things and soulful music would just follow from the heart….

Your music play an important part in the song….I see you take a lot of hardwork in the composition……I think I should also start learning more arrangement techniques….

Very nice compositions Nitin,….Its sad to see some stupid songs become hit and songs like these are very rare to be seen….Its musically very soothing. There is something about this song….I could relate to the song very easily…Very nice work….

Is there anything running on the vocals….like a vocoder or some filterkinda thing. I donno why I get this feel. Chords progression is very nice but something about the arrangement. It could have been much much better in terms of sounds….

- Better late than never… I regret missing this track all this while…

- Great track… Very soothing…

- Nice beat programming… I did find the rim sound to be a little from the usual sound… Very nice, looks like you reduced the strike to keep it soothing!!

- Piano is what takes this song to the next level… I’m in love with the Piano riff and the vibrating snare sound with it…

- I agree with Sunny about that something different in Lokesh’s voice… It was a little different style to stress on “Rrrrat” in the repetition of first line… Usually I would imagine the singer going soft on a word like “Raat” as it generally portrays quiet atmosphere… Different, yet so nice!!

- Lokesh’s singing style somehow made me feel that he has a lot of Hindustani Classical influence… In the style that is…

- One thing that I liked about this song is you haven’t really tried filling it up with a lot of things… The sounds are distinct and every sound is easily distinguishable…

- Liked the tabla beats filling in

- If I was asked to ask for a wish to change or add something on this song, I would say let the bass get a little stronger…

- If you notice this song has taken me to a different world… I’ve been listening to it repeatedly and it goes straight into my favorites… Amazing work… Really appreciate your work in creating such a track… Cheers… \m/

I’ve always been a fan of your compositions since college. I still have ‘Dekh Kar Tera Chehra’ on a CD I wrote at the hostel which I listen to very often. I’m adding ‘Lamha Jal Jayega’ to my list of favorites. Lokesh’s voice brings a welcome change to Arun’s (no doubt Arun’s vocals are great but oft repeated in your compositions).

I know the synth is your key weapon, but I would love to hear natural percussions and strings in your compositions; the synth is too prominent at times and tends to sound ‘artificial’ viz. the natural sound of a piano vs. the synth and actual drums vs. the drum beats on the synth.

I have heard you play the mouth organ and the guitar – and you sing so well too!- why not an acoustic guitar and harmonica composition in your own voice! – a.k.a Dylan, Anjan Dutt, Nitin Dubey.

Nitin:

This is the first song I am listening of yours. You caught my attention not by the soft music or the tune but some of your very meaningful lines. The very first line : “raat hai har savere ki manzil” made me sit up and the powerful phrase “yeh lamha jal jaayega” are noteworthy. Kudos and Do create such nice imagery and metaphors. They are the ones currently in serious dearth these days !!

Coming to the arrangement, I believe you have deliberately chosen to make it repetitive probably to emphasize. The singing although appeared to be a bit confusing since the orchestration seemed to imply a more of a western kind of flat note singing whereas Lokesh had thrown quite a few hindustani aalaaps in the middle and end. Somehow there seemed to be a disconnect.

Anyway very nice effort and once again nice lyrics !
