Piano-Tabla fusion: Raag Gaud Sarang
Piano-Tabla fusion: Raag Ga... Lyrics & Chords
This piece attempts a traditional Indian classical raga (Gaud Sarang) played on an Upright Piano and supported by the Tabla.
It is essentially a jam session between the piano and the tabla that lasted half an hour and was edited to 5 minutes (hence the second half of the piece is basically improvisation); the alaaps, shakers, tambura drone, guitars etc were added later.
Upright piano, guitar, recording and mixing: Nitin Dubey
Tabla: Prashant Vasudevan
Alaap: Supreetha Bharadwaj

Hi Nitin….
You have again created a wonderful piece of music. Good blend. Sounds very nice. Piano and Tabla were great. The vocals is a good concept and it does sound great too with the instrumentals, though I felt it (vocals) could have been better. It is just my opinion. Others may feel differently….:D
Excellent job anyway….

WOW! brilliant Nitin this sounds very very good.
Prashant Vasudevan was too good on Tabla part and Supreetha was equally good with her vocals.
I really enjoyed this Piano-Tabla fusion.

Sounds very good Nitin. Great playing by you on both piano and guitar. The recording and mixing is excellent. I would have preferred the vocals to stay balanced at all times.
Part of the slower portions of this reminds me of ‘Dil Cheez Kya Hain’ from Umrao Jaan. May be that song is also based on Gaud Sarang?

Hi Nitin!!!
Wonderfully done……Piano….alaap & mixing was fav. Only part which could have been better was the Bass Tabla (Bayan) which was speading a lot instead of giving a tight soung. Good work apart from that. Keep it up…. Frankly the tabla part more amature like……

Shampak.

rag is good. playing is perfect. but not in the style of piano playing when both hands co-ordinate to produce harmony. left hand playing is never heard in the clip.
