Nithya,
This song has been covered so many times on muziboo… I would rate this as one of the better versions. From a singing perspective, the main problem is the lack of energy…. This becomes very obvious when Naresh Iyer kicks in. ALso some of the landing notes need to be extended more. Seemed to me like you were running out of breath.

But the most important observation was with regards to mixing. You obviously sang this in multiple takes and theres nothing wrong with that. But its important that when you mix the song its not obvious to the listener. It was way too obvious in this one.

You are improving with your mix. You need to learn more about equalization and thereby develope your signature sound. There was an article I sent Meera a long time back. You should try and get a hold of that. Also your vocal levels were too low in this.

I hope you dont mind all the pointers.

Nithya, your voice sounds sweet; singing wise you did a good job….as George pointed out your vocal is not coming out of the mix so sounds lethargic….a bit more work on presentation by I mean mixing and polishing the arrangement is what all needed.

one suggestion: when you are mixing keep the original song in one of the track and use it as reference….alternately solo the original and your mix and adjust the levels….good luck

Good job with the singing Nithya. An unabashed admirer of your voice that I am, feel you are terribly bad in mixing. You must practise your mixing with all your previously recorded songs and upload them asap. Set aside 1 week and upload them all …am getting creative with getting you to upload more, such tough posturing is the latest from my bag of tricks.

Your voice is very nice.
I agreed with George .Let your voice fly,I should say sing a lttle bit louder,keep sounds well with your stomach,sustain them.And listen carefully:you loose air while singing(I can hear your slight breeze not only between words)Try to sing sounds clear,do exercises home on vowels ,record them and listen you back.Hope you don’t mind the pointers from an european-as I am really amateur in hindi music.

Nice rendition and lovely voice, Nithya! I’m not too familiar with this song – but its appears that there is not much room for breath, and also its sung in falsetto… Agree with a couple of observations on the mixing – but don’t say you’re bad at mixing. I think the vocal volume level can be higher.

First thing I noticed – vocals volume is very low. I see you have done some great work in the singing part. But it becomes less visible because of this issue.

The parts of original track (I presume) in this karaoke track has some serious EQ issues.

Inspite of all these issues, I still felt that you have done a great job singing wise! I really enjoyed it!

Actually felt like some tinge of energy missing in ur singing! Probably because you have not done open throat singing! Absolutely lovely feel though! :)

You sounded fabulous when you sang the line “Saayum tholmel….”… If one closely observes your singing in this song, there is not much of a difference from the way Shreya has sung the song! Just tht slight lack of energy is what makes one distinguish b/w ur cover and the original sung by Shreya…

Also the “Naan Naana” in the very beginning of the song was just off a bit….

Keeping all this aside, you sounded absolutely lovely in this cover! Loved it! :)

My favorite song. Well, this is kind of a song that could be definite favorites to almost all of them who gets to listen. I also think you’ve got that tinge of Shreya ghosal in you :) but the vocals I felt was little inside and did not get mixed well with the music. The important thing is your voice though. Feels so good hearing you sing. Amazing singing. Keep singing.

starting “munbe” is not heard clearly.
there needs to be a punch, if you know what i mean. when u listen to shreya, the landings are a little bit high and they come out well.
