I grew up in a family where the day started with the tape-recorder… well no one was ever trained in classical music so I sorta kept up the tradition until a month ago when I enrolled for classes.
I have been singing for as long as I can remember and the first song I ever learnt was not a rhyme – it was zindagi bhar nahi bhoolegi from barsaat ki raat… :)
The passion for music continued and I managed to get onto SunTVs Sapthaswarangal and came out a semifinalist :) considering there were close to a 1000 others and I thought I stood no chance…. then came Vijay Tvs Endrendrum Punnagai where I came out in the top 7 among 6000 singers who auditioned…. awesome experience though :)
I have performed with a couple of bands here in the Bay Area – Raagalaya and Bandits in addition to some freelancing in the east coast.
I have recently started recording at home which gives me a chance to put my recordings up on sites like this and get some constructive feedback which will help me improve as a singer… look forward to singing many more songs :)
