Hero – What should I say about this song! Every time I listen to it I get Goosebumps…!
Long back Ranjit had suggested me to try this song out. But I was very very skeptical to do it, because I guess it is one of the toughest songs to cover…. And Mariah… she’s nonpareil for sure (sigh)…
I finally massed up the courage to try covering this song (and almost lost my voice in the process). I hope I am able to do 10% justice to it
Thanks to my dear friend Anirudh, for mixing this for me and giving it a new dimension altogether!

Good job Neha. I would be lying if i said this sounds anywhere close to Mariah. But what is great about this cover is the fact you TOTALLY made it your own. You had the maturity to understand that its a losing battle trying to cover this the way Mariah did and hence you improvised all through and came up with a very enjoyable cover. Great job! This cover shows me that you’ve grown as an artist. 5/5 for being brave enough to attempt this and also for making it your own.

Proud of you my divine soul sister Neha,
Yessssssss you have done it and I know it’s a very very very difficult song.
One of my singing partners Charmaine back in college days was the only one who came near to rendering it as close as to Mariah Carey.
You were close to Charmaine’s performance and to tell you no one ever has come as close to her performance in the 10+ years that have passed by.
Only your rendition has taken me to a different level with this song….You also surpassed Charmaine with some of your own modulations which were so Divine.
The fact that Charmaine was a TRAINED western vocalist who used to sing for her Church also, I have to give it away to you….HAT’s off.
Wonderful, Wonderful , Wonderful for the originality in rendition.
Overall package was a DIVINE quality performance.
THANK YOU so much for catering to my request….God Bless You….I am more than happy with the performance and it surely touched my heart and soul.
You gave it your divine touch. I knew you would give it your own character.
Like Neil says this surely is a wonderful performance which deserves high accolades and make it to the finals of the 2 great shows he mentioned and I would also like to add one more show that is India’s Got Talent.
This is one of the most difficult songs in western music to cover and to even complete this song with a decent performance is so difficult as people get carried away with Mariah Carey’s style, but you my divine soul sister have done exceptional with the level of practise you have. Indeed you have done justice to this song.
I loved your rendition indeed and that was my vision to have this inspirational song in your divine voice and the result is awesome.
Only when you try to cover this song do you realize how difficult it is. Not many can dare to attempt this as it is a high risk song.
Kudos to you….

Its a difficult song to cover, but I can clearly see the improvement in the singing! Voice control is the key – it needs improvement. You are good with the modulations though!

Neha….that was fantastic! This is my favorite song! Not everyone can sing this song with that power and throw that Mariah delivers….only some notes needed that additional pulsation / modulation….but even then you were too good….:)
