Attempting one of my favourites from recent times -the hindustani based semi classical from Karuthapakshikal.Composed by Ramesh Narayanan and sung by Manjari.
The karaoke track already had the alaap and since i wanted to try the alaap myself, i removed the beginning alaap from the track and did that myself – so you will sense the cut in track at the start. However, though am sure all of you can make out:), the alaap before the second stanza is Manjari’s since i couldnt strip that piece from the middle.
An admission – i was playing around with the echo effect and i would have loved to reduce the effect slightly lesser than what it is now. The novice that am with the software, i havent yet figured out a way. Meanwhile i thought of getting your feedback. If you have the feedback to reduce the echo, pl also let me know how to do that :).

Radhika, Very nice rendition. Felt you could have given more punch n sung at few places esp pallavi, felt the words were not so clear, these might have sounded so becoz of sum mixing issue(which I can hardly point out). Keep posting such lovely songs.

Good singing once again, but I second Ramya. I felt the words werent clear at some spots. I had similar feedback with Baahon Mein… Is it a confidence issue? Try singing with more energy and confidence the next time as I feel it will take the performance to a whole different level.

It was a good attempt at this very melodious song … You have sung really well… Excellent voice and good modulations as usual…
I felt you can do much much better considering the talent you have. … In addition to the Off pitch notes here and there I felt there was a need for more clarity in the sangatis… The starting Humming could have been better….Also the humming after ‘nilave’ was needing better flow and clarity….May be I am wrong…As regards the echo …it was probably the cause for unclear words as mentioned upstairs…
Overall good but could have been better…

The lack of clarity in words , i think is mostly bec of the overdose of echo.
NVK sir, i agree that i need to work on my singing. Hope i reach reasonably acceptable levels some time soon espec with the off notes and clarity in sangathis :(

You always seem to pick challenging songs :-).
Positives – very good voice, modulations and feel.
Negatives – some sangathis could be better/clearer; few pitching issues.
Overall this was very good – enjoyed listening to it.

Kumar- thanks for the crisp feedback – i agree with the negatives you have pointed out. Though am not sure if its a good aspect( considering the limitations that i have) …i tend to be inclined to stretching my limits at times :) and hence these attempts.

Radhika, what a voice!
Next time just be careful about the pitching. eg:The “vasantha kaalam” at 2:00 is slightly off. Just listen to the song very well and practice and you can do an excellent job.
Sing confidently….I am sure you will get all the vrugas easily.
Great attempt on this beautiful song. Awaiting your next rendition….

Wonderful song selection in the first place…hats off to u for selecting this song and singing it so beautifully!! there are couple of places where it went off pitch…u got a beautiful voice…!

Radhika……good attempt. I feel like it could have been much better. The issues I feel are
1.Pitching…please pay attention to pitching…there are many places where it goes out of pitch.
2. Rendering sangathis – There is scope for more perfection. Practice more and sing.
3.Do have more control in you voice.
Please work hard and come up with more songs…there is no better platform to hear from so many ppl and work on it.

only thing i noted is few words you need to pronounce correctly. Second line “Pozhiyum” ifelt it was lil dragy.
