LYRICS

Main wahin tha kahin
Jab tere yeh nayan
Barse thhe jaise toofani raat ho
Main wahin tha kahin
Jab tera rom-rom
Tarsa tha har pal kisi ke saath ko
Jab dhoondti thi tu
Woh khoye kaafile
Main wahin tha kahin
Par tuney dekha hi nahin

Sulagti yaadon ko sirhaane lekar
Akeli raaton ke fasaane lekar
Khoyi hui thi jis duniya mein tu
Main wahin tha kahin
Khuli baahein lekar

Mehakti saanson ko
Jab neend aane lage
Saya bhi tera tujhse nazarein churaane lage
Din dhalne ko ho
Ghata chhane lage
Duur kahin koi banjaara yeh geet gaane lage
Is janam mein nahin
To phir kabhi hi sahi
Is jahaan mein nahin to
Us jahaan mein kahin

Ab tak chhupayi saari aahein lekar
Sadiyon se nam yeh nigahein lekar
Kho jayegi jis duniya mein tu
Main miloonga wahin
Khuli baahein lekar

Thanks Prateek.

All these songs have been recorded over 8 years or so (this one was in 2001). Because of the time span, different recording venues and also the fact that my own style/taste/technical awareness etc has been changing over the years, if you listen to all the songs in a go, they won’t sound cohesive. So definitely all the songs , the way they are now, don’t belong to a single album, but I do plan to re-arrange and re-record all my songs someday. As of now, I think they are more like demos.
PS: Actually, they ARE demos :)

Wonderful! Indeed.
LOVE the Lyrics.
LOVE the lead vocals.
LOVE the deep bass and guitar that supports the theme.
I feel break beats would be kewl with such mood.
It can be a great rock song too, if you can arrange to have some heavy guitars introduced in later parts, but that may require change in lyrics.

Very touching. I’d LOVE to listen to a high bit-rate version.

Thanks for your encouragement Ronak. It’s funny you mentioned the rock-guitaring based arrangement, because that was seriously considered before we recorded this song, but not followed through because the lyrics didn’t gel with the ‘anger’ in that version. Might still do it someday with modified lyrics :)

Nitin,
Like this song very much !! Far far better than a lot of what bollywood has been churning out these days. Are these home recordings or studio?

Kumar.

Hi Kumar,

A few of my songs (including this one) are studio recordings (though old); the rest are home recordings.

Thanks for your valuable feedback.
