Hangama hai kyon (Cover) - Ghulam Ali Ghazal
Hangama hai kyon (Cover) - ... Lyrics & Chords
I am trying out a Ghazal sung by great Ghulam Ali. I love this Ghazal very much.Apologies in advance for any pronounciation issues and ofcourse dont compare with the originals.I dont think anyone can sing like or even make it close to the maestro.I am not that good in hindi :-).Please let me know how you all like it.

Murali….
That was really wonderful. Great to hear from a singer of your calibre. I felt you did really a great job. Diction by and large was sounding ok. Regarding the harkats at various places they were also quite impressive, though little more clarity in certain harkats would have been better. The lower notes in the initial alaap could have been more perfect…
Overall I would rate this a very good creation of an extremely difficult Ghazal of ghulam Ali…

Shampak – Thanks a lot for your feedback. You are right. First of all there is no harmonium backing for the track. Then there is no space to add things which we want since the track is just like a normal song. But I badly wanted to do this and did compromise on the quality of the track. Once again thanks.
Ahmed – Thanks for your kind words.
TGK – Thanks for adding to favs.
Rashmi – Happy to hear your feedback and thanks for the same.

Hi Murali, Good one, continuing in this high-tradition :-), why dont you gives us, Mastana Piyae Jaa Yuhin, the ending that I heard 12 hours back in this song(which you seem to have removed now) made me hum the song “Jhanak Jhanak tori Bhajae Paayaliyaa, Preet kay geet sunayae paayaliyaa” by Manaa Dey. Probably very similar ones haan… 6/5

Murali:
It would help if you could mix your voice with a little heaviness (add some presence in your software) or it sounds like the voice floating in the air without proper grounding.
Singingwise it sounds fine (except for some off-notes) although I have heard better from you. And diction – I disagree with people here. There is quite a good room for improvement.

Murali….nice attempt. Loved the singing. I agree with Murali that there is a lot on Diction that you can improve.
I think you cannot beautify such songs with a track……it gives you very little scope for improvisations and these songs without improvisations look nothing special. It is the feel and improvisations that make these songs special. But i loved whatever you could do to add your mark on this song.
Great great attempt ………5/5 for sure……Good Luck….

Murali ….what a song pick brother !!!
I just loved it ….esp the beginning alaap was just mind blowing. I would have given u a 5 even if there was nothing after the alaap …:-)
Its a very difficult song to attempt because of the small twists and turns….you have done justice to this Ghulami Ali’s classic. Diction was alright just one word “Nehi” was sounding like “Naahi” ….otherwise its a great effort.
sama hai suhana suhana Tum se hiAgree with Jhanvee …about the carnatic flavour :-)
5/5 from me….

Very good effort Murali. Pls take more care on diction on words like dakka, allah, etc. Urdu is tough :) And your voice was too airy. Like Murali said the bass presence could have been increased in the mix.

Thanks for letting me know of this upload, Murali. This was a really tough choice and you’ve done a commendable job. It just didn’t affect me the way your Meera Bhajan did….could be just beacause I have a thing for bhajans, i don’t know.
Must say though your singing is quite outstanding overall.
All the best!

The initial aalap was superb. Seems like you are trained in classical music. Excellent rendition though there were some diction issues, but dosen’t really matter when singing is of such superior quality. All the best.

Beautiful ghazal in Durbari. Very nicely done, Murali. nice variations you applied. Would have liked more depth in your voice, some places like “Daka tho nahin dala” could be tad better, just giving specific comments since you are of classical calibre…

Mindblowing!!!!
You are right abt the inimitability of the original……Also not going into the diction thingi(not an expert there too).
But your harkats were just out of the world! Your ideas are awesome. I think you are probably one of the two most favs of mine in Muziboo in terms of delivering a ghazal most effectively – the other is our very own NVK. And it is not easy to sing a ghazal without carnatic influence, given your proficiency in the latter.
You kept me guessing at the last “chori tho nahin kee hai”- hadn’t heard that one before.
I will be very disappointed if I don’t see you going places, Murali!
Nitpick: Kehathi hai and similar places seem rushed-A little more clarity would have been nice.

Murali, Good pick of this ghazal by Ghulam Ali saab….tough one and you did your best. Lot of work needed in diction as you almost made lots of blunder with the words in every line….some odd flat notes at wrong places like the modulations which are the specialty of Khan saab……i have heard a lot lot better from you and would like you to perfect this one after listening to the original again….Gluck
