“Patta Patta Buta Buta” was one of the ghazals in a Ghulam Ali cassette I got some decades ago. I have sung this almost in a similar manner (as in the cassette). This famous ghazal written by Mir Taqi Mir has been sung by a galaxy of other artistes too apart from Ghulam Ali sahib such as Mehdi Hasan sahib, Jagjit Singh, Hariharan et al and they are available on the YouTube. They have sung this ghazal in very different styles.
LYRICS
pata-pata buta-buta (every leaf, every plant)
hal hamara jane hai (knows my condition)
jane na jane gul hi na jane, (only the rose flower i.e.my beloved, knows it not!)
bag to sara jane hai (even the entire garden knows it (my condition))

(1) charagari bimari-e-dil ki rasm-e-shahar-e-husn nahin
warna dilbar-e-nadan bhi is dard ka chara jane hai

(2) mehar-o-wafa-o-lutf-o-inayat ek se waqif in main nahin
aur to sab kuch tanz-o-kanaya ramz-o-ishara jane hai

(3)kya kya fitne sar par us ke laataa hai mashuq apna
jis bedil betab-o-tawan ko ishq ka mara jane hai

MEANINGS:

Chaara=cure; chaaragar=doctor

rasm=custom, tradition;

dilbar=lover, sweetheart

mehar=favour, love; wafa=faithfulness; lutf=pleasure; inayat=favour; waqif=familiar

tanz=mocking, taunt; kanaya= ? ; ramz= hint;

fitnaa=quarrel, mischief; mashuq=lover;

betab=restless;
