Coincidentally, I was just discussing this song with Naqvi ji during a response to one of his posts. This tune is the creation of Tamil music director / genius Maestro Ilayaraja.

The notes of the tune & and the guitar interludes and ending, if you listen hard, I always feel was sort of inspired by the evergreen Western melody by the Eagles “Hotel California”.

The link to the song’s Tamil original is below. Do check it out when you have some time. The picturization is cute…. A budding artist is singing late at night, disturbing his room-mate’s sleep, and only to be secretly admired by his neighbors :-) !
