Nain hamare saanjh sakare

Lyrics & Chords

This song is my humble shraddhanjali to the legendary Mukeshji on his 34th death anniversary.

I would be pleasantly surprised if anyone in this community is familiar with this rare gem of Mukeshji. It is from an obscure film ANNADATA, released in 1972. I have sung this a bit in my own style. Unlike the original where most of the line-ending words are cut short abruptly, I have preferred to lengthen them considerably, to make the song sound more musical, rather than more nazm-like.

I hope I have been able to effectively bring out the pathos in this song.

Film: ANNADATA (Year 1972)
Original Singer: Mukesh (Mathur)
Lyrics: Yogesh Gaud
Music: Salil Chaudhary

Raghu, very nice of you to give this tribute to Mukesh. Have heard this song of Salilda-Mukesh combination. The track lacked clarity. Your singing was very expressive-enjoyed it. Congrats!

Just i have listened your ‘’sham e gham ki kasam’’ song …in this song you are sounding just like Mukesh ji :-) …so beautiful adoptability…liked it sir…

Hi Latha,

Thanks for the appreciation. When one does almost only ‘cover’ songs, he/she inadvertently puts him/herself into the original singer’s shoes! Hope to do someday soon create an original!!

Reghu. When I searched for the track of this beautiful melody of Mukeshji/salilda combination I heard your upload. You have sung it in your own style so nicely. But the lengthening singing is not suited to this composition of Salilda which he intends. The words are not cut short ubruptly as you said. The full feel is in the original. But you sing well in your style.
