I relaly think u should have kept some kind of shruthi in the background….from a shruthi box
"Paadal"in sabayerum paadal cud have been crisp in my opinion…Also bommai cud have been plain like the original …wud have been better

Really good job. I am probably not the best person to critique this since I dont know this song, but you sang in tune and I liked it. You should try something with a backing track!

Through out your rendition there is this constant nagging feeling that you are about to go off shruti and that is because of two things :

1. No shruti in BG and
2. Bad recording

There are some areas that definitely need serious attention. For example in the first pallavi you have rushed the sangathis in “sabaiyErum paadal”. Since this rendition is supposedly tempo-free you could take your time and breath to render many places.

Another aspect you may want to address are the endings of the lines. More sustenance is needed in many of the ending syllables. For example, muththE en muththaara"mE" – if u can sustain “mE” for longer, then a nice continuity is established with “sabaiyErum”

It seems like sangathis come to you naturally. Please address these above things and I am sure the rendition will be delectable.

I have not heard the song(original). So can’t really say any thing with a reference in mind.

I felt the singing was good, though could have been better with a Backing track as many said. Most of the sangatis have come out quite nice…

Very nice, Ramya. I used to love this song too. I felt that your carnatic influence was very pronounced in this song. It important to avoid “vaasanaas” when singing cine songs. Just my 2 cents….

one of my fav song of raja sir!!whenever i hear this song ill be in tears…u know u will not believe.I was in tears when heard this song in ur voice also!!Nice singing!!I thought u wud hav tried this song with the karoake track!!liked ur voice!!I think it will be more beautiful if u sing tis song with the karoake track!!keep posting!!
