Wow….What a song selection….I just am impressed by your fantastic choice.

Singing was also very good. As ever you have sung with great feel and expressions. You did hit the top notes quite right, though felt a bit controlled. Just the diction had some issues. ‘jharoke’, ‘jhalak’(you were pronouncing as ‘jaroke’ and ‘jalak’)and ‘khwabon’ was not right Some more were there.

I just reviewed your “Maana Ho Tum” and here again I am late here upon your request.

Harshan, I am smiling to myself after listening to this one … bcos this song suits you so much better and it is a bit obvious to me as to why!. Before I elaborate, let me tell you that your voice was nice in this one and reminiscent of the great Rafi!. You have a good sense of music and no obvious errors in tune were noted and you rendered it quite well.

Now, coming to the point of why this suited you better … all phrases in this song have notes that basically fall on the beat in a 3/4 time signature. Apart from voice dynamics, all one has to do is to just sing the notes one after the other in a pretty straight forward fashion … there is very little note harquat or embellishment or curves or slides!. Your weak areas didn’t really get exposed in this song at all … and that is why you sounded good!. There was minor exposure in places like “kar” and “paas” where only short embellishments were required and you did OK but lacked clarity.

You have a very good voice and with more practice on harquats, you can do much better.

I should say that you have done great justice to this song. Your superb voice quality and range is to be specially appreciated. The ending phrase of all the charanams lacked finesse.

This song is one of those not many would attempt due to the high range of notes. The challenge in this song is to recapture the lower notes after go on a ride with those higher notes and you seem to have captured all of them accurately.

Wah Harshan Bhai, Kya Range hai, Kya feel hai…. This is really a range testing song and I have not been able to get courage to attempt it yet. The great point in your rendition is that when you went to high range, you did not appear to be screaming, you felt at ease like air is coming from naval not just throat which is very important. Clear voice with minimal compression…Awesome !!
