Wow what a ghazal Naqvi saheb and what a feel and atmosphere it creates for the listeners…. being a die hard fan of Khan saheb I always love to listen to his gems even if he’s not singing. Yours was a ghazal version and your singing was beautiful. I can say you were right in mentioning about the modulations which is special to Khan saheb especially on those complicated lower notes…. some of those were excellent and some were your own…. so overall and wonderful tribute and I really loved it in your voice. Just try more of his gems reminding us his greatness. Thanks

Naqvi sahab, this is one of the best cover versions I have heard, bar none! Khan Sahab ki ghazalein aur khas taur pe yeh ghazal mujhe bohot azeez hai iss liye khud try karne se darta hoon. Isme ki har harkat aapne sahi nibhayee. Ahmad Faraz sahab ki shayari bhi kamaal ki thi. Aam tuar pe filmi ghazalon mein shayar ka takhallus nahin hota per iss mein hai. Khan Sahab ne apni filmi ghazalon ko mefil ki ghazalon mein bhi tabdeel kiya hai aur iss ghazal ka mehfili roop bhi shaandaar hai. FAV!

Wow, what a composition of Ahmed Faraz saheb and what a lovely singing by you on this cover version. I have listened n number of times to Mehdi saheb version… but I must admit that you were really good in this one too. I didn’t understand your statement that “With aging (otherwise too) my Surs are not in my control…” are you talking about yours? If that is the case then I will strongly disagree that… aapki awaaz mein ab bhi itni miTHaas hai ki humesha mujhe yehi Dar lagta hai ki baar baar aapki gayaki sununga toh kahin mujhe diabetics na hojaye….lol.
Very nice singing Naqviji….great going keep singing and sharing…Goes to my fav.

So Ghazal Ke King is back with another of my most, high top finest favorit one. I think I know most of the versions sung of the same. It gives such an incredible joy to see this treasures covered so perfectly and so devoted to the real high values of music, the art in its emotional form is the best way I can express myself in regard to this rendition.

Lovely pick, Muzzafarji, and very beautifully rendered with impeccable control in your wonderful voice. Yes, as Rajeevji stated, this song is based on Bibhas or Bhoopeshwari, although he has a slightly different concert version which elaborates the raag more. I’m a big fan of Mehdi Saab and want to cover this ghazal sometime too. :-)
