Thiruvachakam Album-Putril VaaL Aravum Anjen (By Anbu)
Thiruvachakam Album-Putril ... Lyrics & Chords
Hello Fellow Muzibians,
Yet another non-cine song attempt from the same Thiruvachakam Album by the great man IR Ayya. I have already uploaded one earlier and for the first time visitors, if you need introduction about this album….you can read here
Other Link from the net is Also Here…
I have tried my best to bring out the rendition with sincere dedication and passion to portray my love and affection to IR Ayya. After hearing to the rendition myself, I see there is a lot of room for improvements and few places could have been done better……still, I want to post it after a long break in Muziboo. Not to mention, the small dialogue portions at the start of the song is IR’s voice himself…
This time, I mixed the song myself with my limited skills just to keep it as learning process. Hope you all like my effort and singing. Please listen patiently (8 mins) and post your valuable comments. I accept suggestions, improvement and treat them close to my heart and take them seriously.
Thank you all in advance.
Here are the details of the song.

Anbu, Awesome singing!!! Kudos to you for covering this beautiful song from IR’s ThiruvAsagam album. I liked that you left IR’s speech and immediately sang after the speech and it was hard to find any difference b/w IR’s voice and yours. I think the lyrics is putRil vAzh (not vAL) aravam (not aravum) because aravam means snake. Please fix that when you find some time.
I liked your rendition a lot and it goes straightaway to my favorites.

Hi Anbu … thanks for your scribble invite to hear this lovely spiritual song. I admire your dedication and sincere effort and tribute to the great Maestro. Hats off to that.
I listened to your song via my studio monitors which I personally think are better than headphones for a full and rich frequency experience. Of course if one has very small speakers, then headphones may be a better option. I am just making this point as I have noted some uploaders urging to use headhpones, but it does not necessarily have to be the case, if one has good speakers. In fact good speakers beats headphones in my opinion.
Your voice is a bit loud in the mix is what struck me first. Singing wise I think you got better as the song went but unfortunately there were offies especially in the starting paras. Some lines that you rendered were really good and I was thinking that you have very good potential. Overall a very good effort and to be appreciated.
In terms of rendering style try to go for more softness and carefree singing; I think that will give you a more well rounded and tempered voice. So don’t get too conscious, just sing it with more ease and less effort and I think you will find that it actually sounds better when you hear it back after recording. Drop the emphasis in everything a gear. The other thing that you need to do is practice a bit more with that softer tone to cut out the off note inflections. Here practice is required more after listening more carefully to the original … sometimes you may not be able to decipher it so you may need to get someone musically sound to hear you out and give you the corrections. I know it is hard when we are doing our own recordings etc. and errors are inevitable in our environment.
A very tough song in many ways to attempt and you did a brave job … and the composition is a very awesome one orchestrally as well melody wise, and credit to you for showing us this great song.
~With a rhythm is born a song. From a pulsing heart is born music!.

Anbu, I was wondering when you would do this number, actually was pondering whether I should request it, but here you are with this rendition. Overall a wonderful effort, appadiye raja sir voice kaetaa mathiri iruthanthu. The stanzas were awesome, simply a delight to listen to. Puttril vall sections were dragging a bit, try and fix them. I congratulate you for singing this song. You are truly a wonderful musician.

My dear Anbu bro…….Anbu “Raaja” (Thanks to Thinkal sir for suggesting this name)…….
I am disagreeing with my dear Machu , Devan , a bit. Coz , he pointed out that the resemblance with Raja sir is “some what”. I can tell you , it is not “some what” , it is the “maximum what” a singer can come with. At almost all the places , i thought it is the original itself….Such a close resemblance to the Maestro’s voice……….
Not only voice my dear Anbu bro , your sort of approach to such songs are really amazing……With utmost care , you have done a wonderful job by recreating the original mood itself…….I have heard the first one in the same series from you………This is stunning yaar….Really i am telling u….
All the very best & goes to my fav….

Hi Anna,
:) Enna intro …a genius walking into the orchestra which I replace with you….there isn’t anyone else but musical instruments magically weaving music as if in relfecting IR/You thinking aloud on how to compose the song. Lights in grandeur dancing to the tune and your voice.
The backbone/inspiration steming off the saint of those days and the saint of music (IR) to have triggered the inspiration in you to pull this gem into the light here/centre stage. What must one say about your gifted voice, it is a big gift but taking that and building into a fine musical instrument…that YOU have so well achieved.
Thank you for knocking the 2nd rendition from the eternal album. I loved to hear your voice floating with the music….and dacing with the musical vibirations. Enjoyed it anna…your gifted…again i wish IR gets to listen to your renditions. I bow to you and the inspiration in you to render such songs.

And here comes my consecration of tears… :)
Yet another Himalayan feat achieved through this cover… Prior to compassing this cover, would love to ruminate and share the legend which I have been told by father about this divine elixir, ‘Thiruvasagam’ which doesn’t actually confine its hymns to any particular religion though the divine texts are said to be attributed to the deity, Shiva… Having composed by Manickavasagar, one of the saivite-poet of the 9th century ‘Thiruvasagam’ forms the 8th volume of the divine anthology of ‘Thirumurai PaadalgaL’… It is said that those hymns were composed to insist that the soul should be charioteer harnessing the five senses(horses) to lead the carcass to the eternal abode called ‘Mukthi’… And no poems sang on God is as effective as this in bringing out one’s expressions radiating the joy on realizing the truth(God) and the anguish that one gets strangled with, upon separation from the Supremo… Unfortunately, Manickavasagar didn’t get inducted in the congregation of saivite-poets, ‘Nayanmars’… As far as the myths go around this sacred piece of literary work, legend says that Manickavasagar was a minister in Paandiyan VaraguNavarman’s court and he was sent on an errand to buy 1000 horses for his king… Manickavasagar obsessed with the thoughts of building a shrine, used the funds allotted by his King fulfilling his reason for the errand completely for his religious pursuits constructing a temple at Perunthurai near Puthukottai in Tamilnadu… He wanted to ratify to the entire world that the supreme power is above all physical limitations and imaginations and thus sang these divine hymns in the shrine of Atmanathar where one would find only a pedestal but not a lingam as in the other saivite temples… Just felt like sharing these… And on seeing your dedication and bakthi towards music and God, my reverence for my father has gone up a notch, as he is an ardent believer… :)
As IR is known for his absoluteness in weaving grand compositions using all the instruments and naturally endowed mastery, his fans wanted him to work on another symphony and IR has given this divine musical feast to dwell-on for one’s life time – A Symphonic Oratorio of Thiruvasagam… And this particular composition, as per IR came as a tribute to Manickavasagar himself… The first few lines of this poem depicts the emotions of the poet to the summit… A classy piece of literary work given the best of music that it deserves and IR’s monologues add up spice to this festal creation… Still remember how myself with my friends awaited the launch of this album… No wonder that this gentleman gets a standing ovation from the philharmonic orchestra and its associated crewmen from Budapest as and when he performs live… Hail Rasaiah… :)
Coming to this venerable cover of a divine composition, I am left paralyzed… This is quite a valiant attempt as this holds a very special place in every IR-fanatic’s heart and life… First and foremost want of mine in this rendition was that softness laid bhavam… Bhakthi bhavam is quite hard to decipher when compared to other emotes… This should have been a stream of piety… Your consciousness in detailing the song has deprived this cover of the required bhavam… And some pop noises from the mic could have been avoided… This, as labeled as a tribute to the poet himself needs softness brought about by admiration and reverence… Another striking element which was pretty evident through-out this cover – offs… This was a long-awaited cover from one of the pristine souls here and the care that ought to have been given fell short of my expectation… Barring my crazy analysis, this is surely an optimum result given the conditions prevailing there as covered in the write-up of your previous rendition… Have already listened to this more than 10 times, while writing down this… Lucky to have known you, aNNa!!

Very well done anna for the most part. Sila edathula ennaala diffrentiate panna mudila … Avlo supera irunthuthu. There were a few places you could have done better with your caliber and keen ears that you have because you pulled off certain tough places with ease. Neverthless great great effort.
The Orchestration in this song is special. It like a thallattu this ‘Achcha pathu’ and its absolute bliss when IR briefly talks about using the right tune for the right words. Also the orchestration in different parts of the song is just majestic. The way everything gels takes us to a different mood. Like a Rock, Jazz, Pop, Melody …. there is ‘IR’ which is unique and his works in itself are a genre.
