Back again with a memorable IR number , indeed a challenging one too. A long time pending cover for me and the “Cuckoo of Muziboo” came instantly to partner this song with me. She is none other than Hamsapriya/rishi , a versatile singer, good friend and a wonderful sister.
The specialty of the song is the overlapping vocals with two different tunes, which makes it so difficult to reproduce live in orchestra and I have never heard anyone doing this before. But not for Hamsarishi, it seems she has done it as a live performance on stage too. Awesome !!.
During the recording session, I can neither use the original song as backing track nor the female singer’s voice…both way, the sruthi slips the moment the overlapping portions start. So, I had to run the female vocals in my mind and sing my portions as and when required. You will come to know when you listen this.

Happy to be the first one to comment, Who wouldn’t love this beautiful song….takes me right back to my college days where I sang this one on stage. IMO, it can be sung live with the other singer right there than over Karaoke without the other singer’s voice. Beautifully rendered by Hamsa and you.Starting overlap there was something with the pitch that I couldnt put my finger on, but the rest of it was flawless.To favs.

Beautifully sung with utmost control over breath and concentration. Enjoyed it so much. Loved 0:44 of your antha chinna smile in that range at 1:56 and 1:59 that thanana/lalala thanana/lalala was so cute. @3:15 and 3:20 you simply crowned it! And the 3:55 poo with the ending sangathi’s…and the final finish with the sustain was a treat.Simply class enjoyed it very much.

Aaah. I can listen to this song any day, any time :). Legendary Raja composition. Truly an evergreen song.
Lovely singing by both of you. The voice greatly matched the song. However felt something missing in the mix. Felt a little muddy, which was taking the crispness in both your rendering.
