There definitely is an IR version of this song. But you are more influenced by SPB’s version as your rendition clearly shows :-)

I am no expert and certainly not qualified to appraise your effort, but I think every minute modulations are in place. I think I can hear this one many times over!

Your rendition of this song is a favorite, though the original song is not one of my favorites.

No, you have achieved that at least in this song. It was very clear that your influence was SPB’s version. There are modulation differences between the two versions.

Sir, it was flawless rendition with IR tone, but I was slightly uncomfortable when you try to mix Balu sir’s expression, it felt like a, free flowing river took a diversion for while, which had affected its flow. As can be read from your reply, you are trying to unmask the IR clone tag, but I felt you should have tried it thorough out the song.

Sir, its my humble opinion, since I liked the song too much with your version, I was forced to comment like this. Sorry sir, if I anyway offended.

I came to this page again because Ashok commented on it and listened to this again.

I am not a huge fan of this song irrespective of the number of times I have heard this song in the radio :-)

It is indeed SPB’s version that is clearly the one I liked, but I think IR couldn’t resist singing this song after the great lyrics. I think both SPB and IR must have felt identified with the lyrics :-) as both were at the peak of their powers and fame and probably missed their respective mothers.

What wonderful stories each of IR’s compositions have – the ultimate composer – the one who didn’t simply give songs – he touched and enriched the listeners’ lives :-)

I don’t even know that the IR version of this song exists, when heard this song, my mind straight away went to ‘kalyana malai – puthu puthu arthangal’ song since that was also sung by both SPB and IR and well received, I went to imagine to that extent. So, that is the reason I commented like that. I apologise sir, if I any way offended you.
