Nick Townsend

My name is Nick J.Townsend. I’m a musician/singer/songwriter from England, I have been playing in the rock band WEAK13 , which I created, since October 1999 and I’ve seen a lot of action. My current WEAK13 line up is me on vocals and guitar, ‘Xander’ on guitar, ‘Shell’ on Bass guitar and ‘Chronic’ on drums. WEAK13 is now published and available on thousands of websites around the globe.



I’ve been responsible for organising hundreds of gigs in the underground circuit. Thousands of music fans and musicians have me to thank for creating their nights out. Organised rock festivals in my home town.

I have been an editor of 3 self financed, and VERY succesful independent music magazines, ‘PMT Magazine’, ‘NICK THE MAG ’ and ‘ BAN D Magazine. I was also responsible for most of the original content too in them, mainly working with musician ‘King Rich’.

I am known for my very strange and unorthadox low guitar tunings. I will not reveal on here my secret tunings as thousands of you out there around the world are trying to work out how I’m playing half of my stuff.

Japanese Strat (x1)
Brunswick semi-acoustic (x1)

I have a japanesse Strat from between 1984-1989, in very good condition and it’s amazing to play on and I use it on WEAK13 recordings. When I play in my acoustic side project SUBSERVIENT ANGEL with L.E.Lench the only guitar I use is my Brunswick semi-acoustic guitar, it’s my favourite, I love the sound. I write my metal stuff on my acoustic guitar first, if a metal riff sounds good on an acoustic guitar then you can almost guarantee it’ll sound great on electric. I of course abuse my instruments when I’m playing Live.
