Awesome singing Meera. The feel was the best in this song of your pathos covers so far. Singing in this pitch is not an easy joke although strain was evident in a few places in the high registers. Can’t help admiring KSC’s versatility in peppering a pathos song like this with all those podi brigas and still making it melt your heart. The male version covered by Murali R is one of my most favorites in Muziboo. Yours now joins that faves list! :)

There is a a scene in Hey Ram when Vasundhara Das sings for Kamal in the “peN paarkkum padalam”. HEr patti would murmur : “uchchasthaayi la eduhuNdurukkaa…mEla pOyi pisiRi naaRap pORadhu”…and when she is about to hit the high notes everbody’s eyes close in anticipation of apaswaram and then open once she lands on the high notes safely and returns to lower notes.

Same thing happened here with my eyes closing involuntarily. Excellent job in attempting something which is not your scale. You are really stretching the limits. Great going Meera.
