Meera – Your mix sounded different than usual, I like the usual one, probably you changed since its a duet. Very nice singing as always. Some places you sounded classical, say en anbe vaa. Humming in between was slightly pitchy in the beginning n ending.
Karthik – Superb singing. Lovely harmonies.

Meeraji – Suma athirathu ille :-) It was fantabulous. Immense feel, crystal clear pronounciation of words. Confident singing, tough to differentiate with the original. Technically I have no clue. But as a layman audience, it was sooothing….

Wow Meera Ji…… What a wonderful singing…. liked the open throatedness…. The tune of the song is really fantastic…. The Chorus was also excellect both in your part & Karthik Ji’s part…. Karthik Ji sang equally well…. I liked the part where the jumps to a higher note Aaaaa…. Very well done…. Round pickups are always difficult than straight jumps…. Haven’t much from Karthik Ji except I guess Ore Piya was one of his songs which I was stunned after hearing it…. Brilliant work…. 5/5 & goes to my fav.

the carnatic music influence was very pronunced, you might want to give a much softer feel to this song.
it also sounded like you had issues with the scale of the song itself. the strain in your voice showed in the song

This is one of those very few songs of yours, Meera, that didn’t do the magic for me. Totally agree with Ramya on certain places sounding very classical. Couldn’t enjoy the humming very much due to the same classical touch.

The nicety of the song is the silky, soothing flow of Shreya’s voice. She sings all those difficult nuances with such a casual flair that is almost inimitable. Nevertheless a good try….

Meera,
Brave attempt since this is one of the anthems of recent times. To me, this is one of my favorite covers of yours for a couple of reasons:

- I loved the expressions
- The range is not a perfect fit for you and you still made it work (except for one portion)

As always, I have some pointers too… I understand that you have a carnatic music background and its bound to show in your covers, but I think towards the end you overdid it. I already mentioned the slight pitch issues (2:30-33)

Kartik – You’ve sung well too. However I would have eq’d your voice a lil different. It needs to be thinner and sharper for this song. I also felt a few pitch issues (one being 3:34-3:48 or so)

Good job overall guys. 5/5 from me

this song is the first tamil (i hope it is tamil :D) song i heard 3years ago in a callertone of one of my kerala friend and its melody attracted me alot.

i have sung one tamil song “akkam pakkam” but now i think why should not try this song. hmmm but i wud have to again do that all translations to english then print out the lyrics and sing the song by continuously reading the lyrics as i forget words because i dont understand the languge at all:)

what to do these songs are too melodious.
