If you wanted to be different then may be you succeeded in your attempt… But in comparison with the song and its style I did not feel you did as good as you would do any western number or an Atif Aslam’s song…Yes it was sounding different from your normal songs… I too agree on that point…Hope you wont mind my words…

Amazing how so many of us are posting the same song in a space of about a week :-).

Meera you have done a wonderful job. Expressions were very good.

George, kudos to you for this effort. You sounded good for the most part. Agree with others you sounded a bit different from your other songs but in a good way. Think you have tried to soften your voice for this song. Expressions could be better (may be a bit more energy) and diction needs correction in a few places.

Mixing is excellent as usual.

Thank you all for your feedback on this one. Needless to say, I was very apprehensive when doing this as I wasnt sure if I could pull this off. Big thanks to Meera for pushing me to do this song.

There were a number of things that were different about this song as compared to my usual contemporary Hindi numbers and English numbers… a) The language, b) The scale was low for me and c) The semi classical influence in the song. I think the biggest one was the pitch which is why some of you find it less expressive I think. All in all both Meera and I are thrilled with the outcome.

Jane, AJ, Ramya, Smitha, Vidya, Srini, Santhosh, Rashmi – Glad you all liked this one.

Nice one there…. congrats to George for venturing into something outside of “his kind of” songs. Surely takes a lot to do that. No doubt! :)
But the song, as a package by itself is not as complete as it can be: George’s Tamil pronunciation and certain flat renditions of some classical nuances…. but I can understand- like Meera said, the same goes for me- its like me attempting heavy metal or something.
Meera- I think I agree with Ramya and Soumya- nice improvs and sangathis, but feels like ur voice is not as free flowing as in some of your other songs….

Hi this is a wonderfull both of you , I loved George s voice his minimalistic singing …complemented that trance beat and euro chords at backing…and gave a new colour and modern touch to reethigowlai…Kudos for that way of approach even if it is not intentional…….its a eureka thing when u hear a sounding like this to a known song…… From 2:48 Madiyinail saynthida ( sa ga ri ga ma ga ri sa ga ri ) was good at that sthayi and well expressed Meera ……I was totally enjoying this rendition , 4:02 manathirkkul yeppothu ……slightly pisiri irukku ( not the note just the tone ) The mix could have been rolled of on the highs and warmed out to bring the trance thump out….I dont know about the quality of the krk track u got though…… Overall …this is too good to hear .

I think Muziboo has such a wonderful audience who make all singers confident to record their next song by pointing out the improvements required with constructive feedback…if we are not doing that , we should !!! I have already started eyeing on a John Denver song inspired by George…

nicely tried George-Not your best though,understandably you were not that expressive….you know what Meera when she starts from Pesa in the first pallavi is when it strikes so hard….plus legendary Mallu “ll” diction issue:-)the expression issue could be due to extreme low register also,but actually it sounded so much mechanical for some reason

For Meera it was a cake walk and beautifully rendered….

Over all it is 4/5 from me mainly for the attempt to be out of comfy zone

Off all the least I expected from George is to render a song based on a paashaanga raagam like reethi gowLai ! this is home ground for Meera, so I am least surprised by her performance. I enjoyed your subtle improvisations in many places.

But I choose to single out George for this song ! I really liked it ! And George – your tamil is pretty good though it has a child’s flavor in it.

Few minutes back I heard your song ‘Krishna- Colonial Cousins’. That was an excellent performance by George and Meera. Meera has given another excellent rendition here. I could’nt recognise the male singer though the post stated as George. GEORGE WAS IT YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my God, what a challenging performance by George inspite of the language barrier and variation in scale. I still cant believe how you managed to sing so softly with low scale. This motivates people like me to learn good aspects on putting hard work to try out new things in singing. I came here for appraisal but learnt how to venture a voyage into space…. Yes, my whole hearted wishes to Meera for supporting George to embark upon such venture. Impressed with the way George sang ‘unaiyindri ver oru’ as was in original version. Meera, I was awestruck with the way you sang ‘madiyinil saainthida thudikkuthey’. Surprise elements like ‘sila naal’, ‘ena naan’ towards the end by Meera adds beauty- I loved it because it still did retain the mood of the song with your soft modulation. I thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt a positive message from George…. Hats off to both of u….

George…. this was rather an unexpected take from your end….When i saw that you did a cover to this song i was trilled and apprehensive….but well done bro…. The song got another identity all together…. diction at places i found affected the beauty in rendition but it gave immense happiness that like any other creative soul you are pushing your boundaries and trying your level best. Meera i believe was more comfortable with the language and voice quality at higher notes in certain places was impressive… she did a fantastic job as well………thanks guys……
