Dil Hoom Hoom (Rudaali)- Tribute to Bhupen Hazarika
Dil Hoom Hoom (Rudaali)- Tr... Lyrics & Chords
Recorded this a couple of months ago, then let it just sit there due to various things happening around me. Guess, can’t find a more befitting time to post this, with one of the master balladiers of Hindi folk music breathing his last. A genre that I truly connect with, well, atleast more often than not— the bluesy, sad numbers…….
Dimple’s brilliant portrayal in this movie bagged her a national award. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudaali)
I was particularly intrigued by this movie where she’s considered a ‘female weeper/mourner’.
Thanks for tuning in, and hope you enjoy this take.
Originally sung by: Lata Mangeshkar
Original music by: Bhupen Hazarika
Lead and mix: Meera
Track courtesy: Sangeeta Sutar. Thank you :)

Lovely singing, Meera… your voice has a very different texture, so it made a refreshing listen on a Lataji song. Loved your timbre in the low registers particularly. :-)
Liked it,

Listening again, Meera….coz I plan to cover it too, LOL! Exquisitely rendered, Meera. Barsaaye, Ghabraaye etc… was handled so beautifully and delicately – sort of analogous to the falling leaves in autumn…
Pushing it to my favs… 3 Hoom hooms today!

I have to applaud your song selection. Definitely, it is not an easy song to sing considering the variations in the scale and modulation. I particularly liked the different voice tone… Though I am a near-zero in music, I must admit that you handled the lower registers very well though I felt there could have been an emphasis on certain words. The mixing is fabulous!! Great job and a perfect tribute to one of the greatest music composers of Assam.
