I always admired Giri’s effort singing RS, and this one is no different. Quite frankly, the first time I heard him (and every time thereafter), I was Wow’d! This time Latha left me speechless with her crisp pronunciation. There were a few tough Bengali words in this song (“Byathhito” for example, which most non-Bongs pronounce as “Bethhito”; “Trishahora”, “Sangosudha”, “Jhonkaaribey”, etc.). Very impressive!
Expressions, and feelings were very good too. I felt a little bit more energy, or a slightly faster tempo, would have sounded even better and most appropriate (especially for this song, which is literally beckoning the much needed rainy/monsoon season after a scorching summer). BTW, Latha, did you happen to get inspired by AshaJi’s version? At times, especially in the very beginning, you sounded just like AshaJi (but your diction was much, much better though).

hearing for the first time & a lovely base voice of his has added extra flavour to this song . Without professional Musc Directors to conduct you,in a totally ,not only a different language to your mother tounge but also a pronounciation only a true Bengali can render , The presentation by Sri Giri & Smt Latha is something truly great , beautiful , wonderful & above all such an insight to such a song would never have been possible for listeners like me.The commendable aspect is however much you may practice or take help of language expert , to maintain the diction during presentation, keeping the Rhythm & the lovely Desh Rag flowing , Which has been executed in such an exemplary manner by these two wonderful artiste .
