Uyire (Tu Hi Re) - Bombay
Uyire (Tu Hi Re) - Bombay Lyrics & Chords
This is one of my favourite ARR songs sung by Hariharan from the movie Bombay.
I have not attempted to stick to the original in many instances. There is more influence here from Hariharan’s live performances of this song which in my opinion were far superior to the movie released version.
Please listen and post your feedback.

Hi Kumar: Very soothing. But I felt your singing was very controlled; while this song needs to be sung in a flow. You seemed to strain yourself to hit those high registers.
Why did the song end abruptly? Was the Karaoke like that? Anyway, Good effort. Keep singing.

NVK and Rashmi,
Yeah, will probably repost this after re-working it based on suggestions above. This was a quick take from yesterday.
Rashmi, I only sang one antara. As you know this song is a duet and the second antara is the female vocals.
Thanks for the valuable feedback.

Kumar,
As others have mentioned this is a really hard song to sing and I think you’ve done a good job.
Here are some areas of improvement:
1. I think overall you could definitely be more expressive. You were very conscious all through the sing, probably because you wanted to get all the subtleties right.
2. The high portions need work. I think you went off there. If its too high, try falsettos.
3. I would suggest you thin down your voice a little and reduce the reverb from a mixing perspective. Also the vocal levels need to be a little lower.
Those are the few issues that stick out Kumar. I am sure you will have it straightened out in the next version.

RK, Thanks for the feedback – glad you liked it.
PB, glad you liked it. Appreciate your feedback on the variations.
Shailendar, thank you very much for listening even though it was in Tamil and posting your comments.
George, points noted. I agree with point no. 3 and partly with point 2. Regarding Point 1, not so sure about it – felt I did OK with expressions, in any case there is always room for improvement and will keep it in mind when re-doing it.
Thanks for listening and commenting.

Very soft and soothing voice just apt for the song. You did well even in the high notes. some more throw would have matched it with the original voice in the song(is it unni?). Awesome number to be preserved as one of your bests.

Hi Srinivasan,
Just superb rendition!!! Felt very much like listening to Original……you have a gifted voice similar to Hariharan…you sound like Yesudas as well….Keep it up brother…Keep practicing and singing….you can do better modulation which was not up to the mark at a few places….nevertheless…you have the basic tonal quality & style….other things can be improved through practice and commitment…
Thanks & Regards,
Pradeep

It is "En swaasa Kaatrae " not " Kaatru" … He is referring to her as his own breath. (In tamil literature it is “Vilichol” – meaning “word that calls out”) Hope you did not improvise on that sucker Vairamuthu too. Just messing with you man… Great listening to you. 5.0 / 5.0
