Presenting a semi-classical melody from the movie Yakshi. The lovely lyrics are by Vayalar and music was composed by Devarajan. KJY and P Leela sang the original version.
I want to thank Radhika Nair for reintroducing this classic from yesteryears to me and also lending her vocals for the short section sung by P Leela in the original.

Kumar you were BRILLIANT at most of the places except at some places like the humming at the starting which could have been better. Is the tempo slower than the original?

Kumar ……very nostalgic song. Havent heard many malyalam songs as I was raised in Mumbai, but then there are some songs which just sticks to you ….thanks to our parents.
Echo NVK sir….Kumar you were just Brilliant ….you have great control over the lower notes ….lovely expressions. I personally feel that this is your best till now.
Radhika ….you were good too ….you did great in the few lines you had to sing. you sounded a bit different though :-)

Hi Kumar,
Your voice sounds very different now thanks to the compression. Its thinner and sharper… So you are on the right track with mixing :) What you need to careful about is not applying too much compression and introducing the “sssss” sound… You can try using a deesser to solve this problem.
Singing was very good too, although I am not familiar with the song and this is not exactly my fav genre.
Radhika, even though you sang only one line, it definitely had an impact! I like your mallu singing more than your hindi singing :)

Wonderfully rendered. Kumar as always great with such kind of songs with your soothing voice. Radhika your one line indeed was too good. A unique beautiful voice with a good throw.

Sreeharshan – agree with you, I too think that this is one of Kumar’s best so far. About me sounding diff in this – this is the tersest one can get in a song – must be that :) !!
George – All that mixing funda went right over my head -am sure Kumar knows what you are talking about. And very heartening to see that my Mal is better than Hindi – have been hoping to hear this someday :)!

Kumar, This one of your best renditions. I am a big fan of your voice! I have not heard the originals. I thoroughly enjoyed your version. With this talent, you should really get serious about your recording setup…. That will take you to greater heights….
For Radhika’s part the mixing could have been done better. It sounded a little noisy…

Your natural natural tremolo fits the song like a T. KJY in his initial years had a mild pleasing tremolo. Except a very fleeting uncertainty towards the end of the initial aalaap, the song was really very well rendered. I really liked kalpangaL chirakadiyunna line.
