Mann Re - Unplugged version
Mann Re - Unplugged version Lyrics & Chords
Posting a song here after a long gap. It has been a busy month with lots of travel and things to take care of and as such had very little time for music.
This song, originally sung by Mohd. Rafi, was penned by Sahir and composed (in Yaman) by Roshan. The inspiration to sing this came when I recently heard upcoming singer Vijay Prakash’s (Manmohini-Yuvraj) version of this song in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa on youtube.
I could not find a good K-track, so decided to do an unplugged version instead. Look forward to your feedback on my humble attempt of this beautiful song.

Kumar ….glad to see you post a new song ….lovely song pick. You sang this beautifully but felt you could do better especially in the feel department ….certain places felt a little plain. I liked your variations in the lower scales. Felt you could have opened up a bit more hitting the high notes….these are just my observation ….very well done !!

My Dear Kumar,
Only a versatile singer can render an unplugged version of Rafisaab’s song with feel & perfection and you have almost done that !
I felt floating in nostalgia and had visions of that ever greatest legendary Rafisaab hearing your perfect rendition. The Almighty had showered his blessings on me years back(in the early seventees) when my humble self had the opportunity of meeting & talking to Rafisaab.I’m still excited to remember the great legend telling me “Wah Re Wah Mere Betae !” as I was quite young and had most respectfully sung “Chaahunga Main Tujhe” in front of him.The most exciting part was that Rafisaab even joined me in singing the last stanza. Just imagine my humble self who is a nobody singing along with the greatest singer of India ! Actually I had experienced a serene & divine feeling while hearing Rafisaab unplugged !
GOD is really GREAT ! And so is Rafisaab & all his songs !
Kumar, you have given Rafisaab an apt tribute !
Hats off to you ! Full marks to you !
GOD Bless !
Loving Best Wishes,
Thinkal Govind Kumar.

Kumar….
As all have said it was an excellent rendition…Singing an unplugged version needs lots of guts and more than that tons & tons of talent… And you have no scarcity for talents…:)
You gave it a carnatic style… Many harkats were done in a southern classical style which took away the beauty to some etent…Dont mind me saying that…But sounded different and interesting however…
All the best

Very soothing and beautiful rendition, Kumar! Some nuances like in “dheer” had a Carnatic touch to it, but I liked it in totality. I liked the tanpura box on the background, and I love this classic by Rafi saheb!

Wah! It’s my favourite song. You have sung it differently at some places but effect was beautiful. In fact I loved to listen to these variations. Brilliant….
Nothing to add to any possible opportunities for further improvement. They are covered upstairs.
Hats off for daring to sing this particular one unplugged and doing full justice with the song! 5 Stars for that….
Keep these classics coming Buddy.
Enjoy Singing!

Kumar first of all a very nice pick man, loved the unplugged version, you have sung this exceptionally well, a hint of Yesudas saab voice is there in your voice. But you made it southindian man, this song has that laid back attitude which is most common in hindustani numbers, I missed that. But nothing to take away from your rendition, it was birlliant

Dhiraj,
Appreciate the feedback and pointers. Will work on getting the hindustani feel in these semi-classical hindi songs. Glad you liked it though.
