I am a singer who loves to sing melodies of all kinds. I love songs that have a slight classical touch. Listen to a lot of classical music too.

I think I have a decent vocal range but need to improve my higher range. Also working to achieve consistency in my singing and being more expressive. I tend to not stick to the original verbatim when singing covers. Not sure if this is a good thing or not. There are pros and cons I guess.

I am also working on improving my hindi diction, although people tell me my tamil also has issues because of my mallu influences :-). Working on that too.

I am glad to be here in muziboo. The talented musicians here have helped me improve my singing over the past several months. The feedback and encouragement really keep me going. Most importantly I made so many good friends here.

I love to collaborate with others and I am always looking for new opportunities that will enhance my abilities.

Kumar,
I think you are one of the best singers for tamil/malayalam vocals on muziboo. You have a deep voice and a strong lower range. I think your mid and upper range could improve further. Your modulations are very good for south indian music. I think another strength of yours (for the most part) is your song selection. It is spot on. It shows that you have a very good understanding of your strengths and weaknesses. I would encourage you to do more Hindi songs which will improve your diction. I am working on it too. I’m really glad you are part of this community. Good luck on your musical journey!

Sorry man, I didn’t notice your thread yesterday.

Well what can I say you have a very expressive voice, you can perform any song with ease, and your voice has that unique quality which suits both Hindi and Tamil. I actually liked the way you sang “Oh sajana” I thought it was very innovative. Some of your song selections are spot on. Coming to any negatives, I think you have to concentrate more on your diction issues in Hindi. And also at times when you sing at high range there is a slight influence of nasal. Try avoiding that. Goodluck with your future endeavors.

Kumar first of all I didnt know that you were a mallu :-) I thought you were a tamilian ….you have a great voice bro ….and I always liked the individuality in your rendition. One thing you need to seriously think about is enhancing your upper range, you have a great bass in your voice and a very nice mid range. Also from one mallu to another ….need to improve your hindi diction :) Good luck brother !!

Thanks Harshan for your encouraging words. Appreciate it a lot. Will work on my upper range, clearly I need to improve on loudness of my voice at the higher range and like Dhiraj mentioned, some nasality tends to creep in at these higher ranges. I am working on some songs that involve higher range vocals.
Hindi diction is an issue – working on it one song at a time. Feel free to point out specific words in my songs that you feel need to be improved. Thanks for the pointers.

Just to clarify, I am a tamilian – so you were right about that, but was raised in Kerala during my elementary schooling years and ended up learning Malayalam at school :-). Moved to Chennai for high school and college years.
