Bio

College Grad, retired Technology Teacher. I sold high end audio equipment at Soundex Electronics. I was in a band in H.S. called the Spyders. I played harmonica, drums and sang.
Moved to Florida from NJ and started playing with a local famous musician named Kenny Cohen. I recorded live gigs with Kenny and sat in on several Blues songs. Taught myself to record using a MacBook Pro and assorted other equipment.

I really got into recording live music! Wish I had done more studio work as now I have the time. Working full time as a Teacher limited me on doing gigs.

The best thing is sitting in with great musicians and doing it live. As far as I am concerned, live recordings capture a magic quality that is just not there in the studio. It has to be the artists reaching for something that is there but brought out by the audience.

Musical Instruments

Harmonicas, microphones, Mackie 16 channel Onyx firewire mixer, near field speakers. Also I think that musical taste is very important. You have to have heard great music to know how to make it! Miles Davis, “Kind of Blue”, Peter Gabriel, “So”. I could go on but there is a point to classical music training. I spent some time talking to Bob Heil about his work with The Who. He has the knowledge from a lifelong experience with playing and recording music.
