Meri Rooh Khuda Mein Magan Hai (Jagjit Singh) - cover by Kaushick M
Meri Rooh Khuda Mein Magan ... Lyrics & Chords
Well Folks… here I am back with an upload after an extremely long hiatus… many things had kept me away from Muziboo… in fact in the last few months, I was almost completely away from singing per se… leaving many a duet project incomplete… many a friend here wondering what had happened to me… well here I am once again in your midst… hopefully this would be a longer sojourn… I need you folks to help me get back to my feet and keep them planted firmly here :)……
I am presenting here my cover version of a Christian devotional ghazal sung by the incomparable Jagjit Singh taken from the devotional album “Pray for India” composed and sung by Anil Kant… I had recorded this in a great hurry in order to upload it as a tribute on the day Jagjit Ji left his mortal coils… however I never got to uploading it as I wanted to make a few corrections here and there and which never happened… I am now uploading this one (have still not been able to make those changes) as my tribute to the Indian Ghazal King … please do bear with me for my obvious inadequacy in doing even some reasonable justice to the original rendition….I thank Vishnu for making the minus track for me…
Devotional Ghazal : Meri Rooh Khuda Mein Magan Hai ( adaptation of “Song of Hannah” found in
I Samuel 2:1-10 in the Holy Bible)
Album : Pray for India
Composer : Anil Kant
Original singer : Jagjit Singh
Cover & Mixing : Kaushick M

Welcome back, Kaushick. Very nice soulful rendition, Kaushick. First line of mukhada seems akin to Gurjari Todi, but 2nd line goes to a different zone! :-)
