I have started my career as a stage artist in chaturanga natya goshti. A renowned
amateur drama group under the supervision of SRI ASISH GHOSAL and FOLGU GHATAK (the nephew of renowned film director of India SRI HRITIK GHATAK).
As I can sing initially I got to sing mass song in the drama (JWALA) written by
SRI HRITIK GHATAK. By this opportunity I learned all the songs used in the
drama from SMT. JOGMAYA SEN wife of renowned general secretary of IPTA SRI NIRANJAN SEN. Since then I acted in several dramas out of that I was fortunate enough to get the chance to act in the famous drama “RAKTAKARABI” written by KAVI GURU RABINDRA NATH TAGORE as BISHU PAGAL which was staged in Patna
and in all India full length drama competition in Delhi at IFX hall RAFI MARG in
Hindi.

In the year 1978 I was invited from Rabindra Bhavan Patna through my friend SRI
JYOTI PRAKASH CHAKRAVARTY to participate in RABINDRA NATH TAGORE’S “MAYAR KHELA” nitynatika to sing all the songs of the
character ‘KUMAR’. Then after I thought that I should learn Rabindra Sangeet properly and I decided to take admission in Rabindra Bhavan to learn Rabindra Sangeet. Under my guru SRI SHALIL DASGUPTA who was the gold medalist from
SHANTI NIKETAN. In the Rabindra Parishad the Rabindra Sangeet faculty was affiliated from GEETOBITAN KOLKATA. I completed my course in the year 1984;my practical examination was taken by the great Rabindra Sangeet artist of India SMT. SUCHITRA MITRA. I have also learned Indian classical music from late KAMAL DAS (kirana gharana) he was a student of great classical artist AAMIR KHAN and SRI DEBOJYOTI DUTTA MAJUMDAR was a student of VISWADEV
CHATERJEE (and younger brother of SAILAJA RANJAN MAJUMDAR of SHANTI NIKETAN who was closely associated with RABINDRA NATH TAGORE and has also written many notation of TAGORE’S songs). Then after me and my friends formed
a new institution SANSKRITI in the year 1986 with the help of SRI ANIL MUKHERJEE and SRI AJIT GANGULY from BIHAR ART THEATRE and they have the theatre hall KALIDAS RANGALAYA where we opened the music school for Rabindra Sangeet and Indian classical music. During this period we staged several musical programs and dramas as 25th bhaishak birthday of Tagore for at least 15 days. At the same time we have staged nitynatika , “SHAPMOCHON”, “CHITRANGADA”, “CHANDALIKA”, “SHYAMA”
and “BASANTA” and geetinatya “BALMIKI PRATIBHA” and “KALMRIGAYA” written
by Tagore apart from this we have staged several script programs based on Rabindra Sangeet like BHAV-O-BHAIRABI, PREM-O-RABINDRA nritynaty, classical music in BARSHA and European classical effect in Tagore’s songs written by SRI JAIDEV DAS. I have also got an opportunity to stage “BASANTA” nitynaty in
Jamshedpur on request by Rabindra Bhavan, Jamshedpur. Although name of our institution has been changed to RAVICHINTAN, our activity to promote the Tagore’s work and our Indian classical is still going on. We have also done
PRABHATPHERI on 25th bhaishak started at 5’o clock in the morning and subsequently we have arranged Rabindra sangeet, nuzrul geeti, painting and poetry competition.

I and our institution “RAVICHINTAN” are grateful to late ANIL MUKHERJEE and
subsequently SRI AJIT GANGULY and SRI R.P TARUN. As our institution is amateur
BIHAR ART THEATRE is kind enough to encourage me because they never asked me to pay any kind of hall rent for KALIDAS RANGALAYA since 1987 to till date.

All the programs staged by me right from 1987 to till date. All the performances in those programs in which all the participants Bengali as well as non-Bengalis were my students who were personally trained by me. Most of the students who were trained by me have left Patna after marriage but still they are teaching the new generation and developing art and culture an all over India and even in
America also. I am very much proud of them who were non Bengalis those can sing Hindi and Bengali sangeet also.

So far my recent audio cd “HIYAR MAJHE” directed by SAUMMODEEP CHAKRAVARTY is concern previously due to the I could not able to record my personal audio cd due to some financial problem. After my retirement in the
month of January 2010 I have done it.
