Ponmagal Vanthaal (cover) Lyrics & Chords
Here is a song after a break of three weeks. This song from A R Rahman is a chart buster from the Tamil movie Azhagiya Thamizh Magan. Like a typical Rahman song, it took time to grow in me and now I keep listening to the song. This is a remix of an old Thamizh song.
Song: Ponmagal Vanthaal
Lyrics: Alangudi Somu
Music: A R Rahman
Original singers: Aslam, Ember Rap
Cover by: Jo (with the vocal track of Ember Rap)

Thanks Nithya! Also thanks for pointing out that pronunciation issue. I somewhat understand what you say. Will listen to the original again.

Hi Jo… nice rendition… but one very important thing is pronounciation as nithya said… it sounds vry glaring… changes the meaning itself… pronounce La in vanthaaL, thandhaaL, aaLaakinaaL as in MagaL, poruL… u shud get wat i say since same kinda words exist in malayalam too… Nowadays north indian singers spoil the charm of the music by spoiling the lyrics in south indian languages esp tamil to my knowledge… Any singer should be vry careful abt diction when singing non-native languages… So I think we should be very careful abt that,,. hope u take my comments in the right spirit…
Cheers:)

Hi Ramya, thanks. :-) Yes, I do understand the difference between “la” and “La”. I wasn’t aware of it in this particular song when I recorded it. :( Thanks for pointing it out.
