One of my most favourite tamil songs of the recent times…. Wow what a composition by Ilayaraja….

Both Meera and Jo have done a wonderful job….Barring a note or two where Meera has slipped, she was very nice….Jo was also very good with his deep resonating voice….He could do with little more energy in his rendition. I thought Hariharan had sung quite powerfully… Jo you can correct me if I am wrong….please

Great job guys. I’ve never heard this song before but I really enjoyed the performance. Meera’s voice sounded processed for some reason. Did she use pitch correction or something?

You are right about the power in Hariharan’s voice, Joseph. It is the intoxicating nature of his voice that carries the song!

I am no expert in classical music but this is my honest opinion and I hope you will take it in the right spirit:
The raga and the slight Hindustani touch this song has must be handled in a gentle manner. The swaras and landings of each line must be gentle and rounded to give it that extra oomph. This is what I felt was missing where you sang Hariharan’s part. With due diligence and practice, I am sure you will master it. Any debates on this topic is welcome!
