I have been wanting to do this song for a couple years now and when Venki asked i jumped and said yes lets record it. I am impressed how Venkatesh had got the feel Naresh Iyer has brought in this song. I am glad we did this song together:)
This song is probably one of the best romantic melodies ever ever done by Rahman. Shreya has rendered it so beautifully. Thanks Venkatesh Viswanathan , it was lotsa fun working with you, and hope we do more renditions:)

Janani! Nallaa paadi irukkey… I felt ur vocals need to be brightened in the mix… And could feel an ingredient missing in this package… Couldn’t figure it out… I know you are an onstage performer and so got intrigued to say this… But this is a real toughie to render and I should say, you have succeeded… Ending humming needs precision though it flowed very well… You can definitely outshine your own works and I expect your regular posts… All the best…

Janani—great attempt, felt you concentrated a lot more on the singing and not that much on feel :P A little loosening up might have helped I thought!
Venkatesh—awesome effort…felt your voice could have been brighter in the mix.
Thought both your voices suited the number…Overall, not an easy song, so kudos for the attempt!

My alltime fav song from Shreya! Very good singing, Janani! :) I completely agree with Meera’s observations. A little more loosening and more feel would work wonders. Flow in the aalaaps could be better.
