Dear Friends, Thank you for the overwhelming response, for your awesome encouragement, and for your constructive feedback. I will respond to you in detail in just a little bit. I listened to this cover today after a gap, and I noticed that the song appeared dragging a bit too long. I compared to the original on YouTube, and realized that my track’s tempo was significantly lower. So I tried tweaking my cover’s tempo using Audacity. I compressed the whole cover by 24 seconds, and it now sounds a lot better. I think it was Wafiz bro who educated me about the tempo part once before, that when there is tempo mismatch, a lot of feel is lost.

I am therefore taking the liberty to reload the corrected version now. Hope you won’t mind :-). I will reply to you all shortly.

@Harshan bro : Many thanks for your candid feedback which helps many of us in our pursuit for continual improvement. I always thought that my modulations on this song were adequate, but after seeing your and couple of other comments above, I compared my cover to the original and did see ample room for refinement.

One major drawback in my previous cover was that it was almost 20 seconds slower just for the first 2 stanzas alone, when compared to the original. I have tweaked the overall tempo now using Audacity. I feel it must reflect on the modulations too. Do please check it out when you have some time. I will keep your point in mind for future covers, to work on my modulation part. Many thanks & warm regards

On this song, I thought there is very little Urdu, but who knows “Ghungroo” itself might be a Urdu word :-) ! LOL ! Please feel free to correct/point me on specific words. I will be immensely grateful. Also, if I remember correctly, I think you were the one who once educated me on matching the track’s tempo to the original. :-)…. Thanks Priya…. The rework to compress the cover to improve its tempo did work out well, and it has brought out some of the modulations better….

However, on its flip side, my vocals and its echo seem to have been compressed closer too, and has compromised the vocal clarity a little bit I think….

Hi Krishnan ji, Thank you for your visit and kind feedback. I agree with your observation on the expressions / modulations part. As I have written in my introduction, I recorded this cover on a track that I realized later as a much slower tempo one compared to original. A lot of expressions were subdued because of that. I then experimented compressing my cover with Audacity software, to increase its tempo. The result is what you heard above, and surely there’s tremendous room for improvement on a re-attempt.
