Tere Baghair (1st Attempt)- Rafi Cover
Tere Baghair (1st Attempt)-... Lyrics & Chords
Friends,
This took me 100s of rehearsals over past month to find its current shape. This is toughest song I have ever attempted, but equally thrilled and mad about this Ghair Filmy Ghazal of Rafi Saab.
There are some downsides in my attempt, top most being a bad mix, I could not fix my acoustic reflections well, compression & EQ is not giving me a good output because input is bad (Falak is sounding like Palak due to over compression), so my voice tonality hasn’t come really well despite an excellent track.
Thanks for hearing this version. I still wanted to share this with you as I want to certainly record it again with a better ambience to get a better voice projection along with the pointers given by you.
Music: Madan Mohan
Original Singer: Rafi
Saab
Lyrics: Raja Mehandi Ali Khan

Harry bhai…. I have to agree with you in that this is by far one of the most difficult song to take on…… I respect your efforts whole heartedly but I also heard flat notes…. Based on your write up it’s evident that you were determined to render this one and you did…… question is, did you enjoy it? If the answer is yes then……… it’s all worth it. Great job!! Loved it.

Thanks Much Leo Bhai for your goodies and the comments. Really Appreciate it.
Rahul I am trying to regain momentum despite all odds….so decided to utilize the forum for practice and continuity. Thanks much for L & F. So glad to know you liked my effort.
Madhukar Ji I humbly accept your feedback and the missing expressions and flat notes, you are right because as I said it my first attempt to see where I stand. I have never rehearsed a song as much as this one which indicates how much I love this Ghazal especially because Rafi Saab, Madan Mohan and Sahir Ludhianvi are like my virtual Godfathers for my creative life. About this attempt, I can say there are no patches and it was recorded with one take, except for compression, EQing or delays no patches were applied, so there is room left for improvement for amateurs like me. I am glad you were able to provide your frank opinion which really helps. Thanks much.
Swati Thanks for your wonderful words. All I can say is start thinking from today onwards, even you can attempt tough song since I see a lot of passion in you towards good music. You can get there someday. Thanks much your encouragement !

I could understand and feel your hard work behind this rendition. Wonderfully done. Really it’s a tough song to perform. Rangewise, harkate wise. You have taken all the high notes very well. Very good output. Loved it very much.

Not an easy song pick Harry bro….but need to appreciate your persistence…I am sure if you added another 30 rehearsels…ho jatha tha:) I have gone through the same thing many times especially when I sing malayalam and then get fed up and post….so kudos to your spirit….liked your rendition….the high light was the sweet tone in your voice and the higher registers.

This indeed is a difficult number full of modulations and despite that you sang it beautifully Harry bro. Some raags are for morning and some for nights may be the time you attempted it wasn’t appropriate for that or like Harshan bro said that few more rehearsals would’ve done it… I think that many more rehearsals would’ve brought the time suitable for this raaga…. lol…. anyhow just kidding…. you sang it nicely and loved your singing here. Keep sharing like that.
Best of Luck!!!

Harshan Bhai thanks for Stamping my efforts. You are right about 30 more rehearsals. I am actually going to attempt again with more efforts. Thanks for recognizing the positives in my attempt.
Wazif Bhai Thanks for your encouraging feedback. You are right about Raaga Times, but to tell you the secret the only suitable time for all my songs irrespective of Raagas is when my kids go to school LOL…. so during those happy moments only I can record whether the song is sad or happy hehehe….
