Mainu Tera Shabaab Lai Baitha (Cover)- Shiv Kumar Batalvi
Mainu Tera Shabaab Lai Bait... Lyrics & Chords
Friends,
I am not sure if you would want to listen it as it is very specific Genre. One of the most respected & short lived poets of Punjab Shiv Kumar Batalvi wrote some of the most touchy poems that really made him class apart. He only lived 36 years and left behind pieces of unforgettable punjabi poetry which is hard to re-create.
This particular ghazal is so popular that it is sung by many singers in their own versions e.g. Jagjit Singh, Mahendra Kapoor, Hans Raj Hans & probably many more.
This is just my version and part of continued vocal practice which I hardly get time for. So if you listen, then bear with me :D. It’s a tribute to the great poet.
I would not have sung it if I had not accidentally found a track distributed Free by Aman Singh on his website
Track: Aman Singh
Poet: Shiv Kumar Batalvi
Please feel free not to comment or press any button if it does not fall in your flavor.
PS: Thank you Nishu Rai for letting me know about Wiki on Shiv
Incidently I did not know that I share my b’day with Shiv Kumar Ji.

Extremely Delighted and thankful to each one of you stopping by and sharing your feedback. It is really great to have an audience like you.
Sarmistha, Rahul, Vijay about the pitching and theraav parts, Agreed with you on the pointers. I wish I could do daily practice. Instead of that I do regular mistakes of having butter parathas or fried stuff and then taking water, which often gives me a vocal fry :D. I am trying my best to get into discipline as time permits. Thanks once again.

Lovely attempt Harry Bro! I could not understand the lyrics fully but 90% waht i understood was fantastic and your expressive rendition made up for the rest. Felt like it ended abruptly. Did you sing it full?

Adithi Ji – Yes it is Punjabi, thanks for liking my attempt. I am still struggling to improve.
Sridhar Ji – Feels great to see your comments
Satheesh Ji- Thanks for liking my attempt.
Adwait – The track is customized, it has no match to any of the originals sung by Jagjit Singh, Asa Singh Mastana, Mahendra Kapoor or Hans Raj Hans, so all have different music, variety than this track. It has 5 paras in poetry I guess, track is only 3 paras. So, it did not end abruptly.
Aparna – Thank You
Vishnu – Thank You

Believe it or not, I knew this Ghazal. My limited musical culture surprises me sometime too. Beautyfully sung, the specific Punjaabi touch in this, had always made me think if I was not living sometime ago in that area. More please, if not uploaded, for my “personal collection”.
