I am doing this based on a request from Amruta (AJ’s better half) who also provided me the karaoke track and wanted this to be my 100th upload. This song was originally sung by the Bee Gees. However the Boyzone version made the song popular. Its pretty much like the original except for the harmonies that I added. This one goes out to AJ and Amruta!

Wow, I am pleasantly surprised. I never knew that this was requested by Amu? But, I am glad she did, cos the song got his due, which is to be sung by a very good singer. Fantastic singing and the harmonies sounded so cool.
Could you give any tips on doing harmonies in Cubase SX3? or did you use any other software for harmonies???

Amruta – Thanks for your kind comments. It was my pleasure singing this for you both. Always more enjoyable to sing a request. Even better when the person who requested likes the song :-)I didnt know Elvis also covered this song. So thanks for the info there as well.
AJ – Sorry that you had to be woken up to listen to this :-) Glad you liked the cover. As for the harmonies, there is no special technique man. You just record additional tracks and sing in harmony and then mix all the tracks together. The only trick is in making sure the levels for the harmony tracks are not too high and overshadow the main vocals.

Balaji – Thanks for the feedback. Glad you liked it. The mic obviously plays a part, but if the singing is bad, it will amplify that as well. So a good mic in some ways is a double edged sword depending on the type of singer you are.

100 posts in less than a year…… and taking the pains to keep the music in you active is the most important thing in all this, George.
So, first of all, congratulations on coming this far :)
Have heard this song before. Nice pick for your voice tone and, nicely done. However, I personally felt some words could have been softer (to enhance the feel, but then that’s just me :D). Specifically the line “words are all I have”— 1st time you sing it, the subsequent times were allright). Barring that, needless to say— the harmonies were well done… bang on notes :)

I just typed Boyzone and lo there you are. So happy to see this beautiful rendition of yours George.
My wife is very addicted to Ronan Keating’s songs, as ofcourse we know his voice is magical.
We both heard your composition. Very well done. “da da ra da ra rara……” very nicely you have taken that. Only place i felt a bit off was the part ……“bring a tear to me……” on the first portion of the song, But that doesnt matter. It was indeed a treat. 5/5 from me….infact from us :-) Cheers!
