I think a lot of us are familiar with the Cher version of this song. However it was originally sung by Marc Cohn and this is a cover of his version. I love this song as it has a very gospel feel to it and a beautiful melody. This is also story telling at its best. As you listen you can visualize the story Marc is trying to relay.
This also happens to be the first song sung by me that I’ve mixed on the mac. Still learning Logic Pro. I’m very interested to hear what folks think about the overall sound as compared to my previous recordings.

Anirban – Glad you liked it man. I was unsure if this mix is better or not as compared to the PC. My wife liked it a lot. Am glad you liked it too. I have a 15 inch Macbook pro with Core 2 duo processor (2.5 gig) and 4 gigs of RAM. I upgraded the RAM since I mix stuff.

Your voice sounds a lot more ‘present’ in this song if you know what I mean. Although your other numbers did show base, it seems to be a little more pronounced in this song. Mixing is nice, and your vocals come outs crystal clear. No muddiness whatsoever.
Given that your vocals are very good in most of your songs, I sure hope all the above I felt is due to the logic pro/mac, in which case I am pretty ecstatic since I am in the process of moving as well :)

Oh and BTW, nice song and very nice vocals. Manohar & I enjoyed it.

cool singing, very very nice mixing……very clear vocals……….a good software really makes a large difference which is clearly showed in this rendition……i absolutely loved it……

Thank you one n all for the feedback. Looks like Logic Pro is a hit. Right now I am taking a hybrid approach (using both Cubase and Logic) mainly coz I am used to doing things a certain way in Cubase. Hope to totally convert to Logic within the next 2-3 months. Thanks again folks!
