I hate most of the current gen rock music, but Kings of Leon is an exception. This song is currently on the charts. It has a beautiful melody line and powerful and expressive vocals among other things. There was a lot of scope for harmonies and I have added a lot of layers in this. I hope it works.

Hey George,
Never heard the original….in fact, not even familiar with Kings of Leon. Even I do not like current gen rock and thats primarily the reason why I have drifted away from western numbers lately.

Thank you Kuhoo :) I should be taking lessons from you, not the other way around! I am not trained Kuhoo, so I am not sure I am the best person to teach. I think western music more often that not is about open throated and yet controlled singing with a lot of emphasis on feel. I also think theres more room for originality and interpretation in western music. You can afford to make slight mistakes so long as the emotions are there. I think Indian music, especially the older stuff is all about pitch, staying in rhythm and other technicalities, although these days its more about expressions and emotions.
