Lyrics & Chords
During my college days, there were two Indian Rock groups that I totally loved. My most favorite was Colourblind. I remember taking a bus and going all the way to Jamshedpur just to get their debut album. My other favorite group was Indus Creed/Rock Machine. Today for whatever reason, I suddenly remembered this song, and just had to sing it. So here it is :-)
I have done all the harmonies and vocals in this. Some of the harmony arrangements are different from the original.
THIS IS MY TRIBUTE TO INDUS CREED , one of the greatest rock bands to come out of India!
Credits:
Song: Trapped
Original Group: Indus Creed
Vocals and Harmony (Cover): George Kuruvilla
Mixed by: George Kuruvilla
LYRICS :
trapped in my body
trapped in my soul
trapped in my body
and I think i’m getting old
trapped in a dream and you can’t even scream
‘cos there’s no one ever here
stapped to your seat
and you can’t find your feet
will this nightmare never stop
all alone, strange city
hot crowded afternoon
i’ve been stranded in the darkness
I can’t see, there’s no moon
trapped in my body
trapped in my soul
chased in a dream by a freshly rested team
of black horses drawing a hearse
crossing swords on the bridge of rewards
there’s no winner or fat purse
all alone, strange city
hot crowded afternoon
i’ve been stranded in the darkness
I can’t see, there’s no moon
trapped in my body, trapped in my soul
trapped in my body, trapped in my soul
trapped in my body
and I think i’m getting old
in my body is my soul

George, did you do the backing track? Didn’t know that you are an instrumentalist too. So what are the other songs on Muziboo have you sequenced? Fantastic job, btw.
And btw, Colourblind is really great stuff, but aren’t they much newer band? I first heard CB in their debut album in 99, and totally love it. In fact I happen to have the original CD, which is one of the prolly thousand CDs they produced, before they dismantled the band. In fact Sid Achrekar (one of the two guys, other is Ram Sampath) has moved to right here in bay area.
Rock machine/Indus Creed is the age old grandpa of Indian rock scene.

Hi Guys,
Thank you all for listening and your feedback. Glad it took some of you down memory lane. In general I prefer Pakistani rock music to Indian, but these two are exceptions :-)
Sudeip – Dude.. pretty child is definitely on the list of songs to do.
Sumit – Top of the Rock is one of their oldest hits I think. Back in the Rock Machine days.
Satyajit – This was not sequenced man. I made the k track from the original track using a vst plugin. Yeah, Indus Creed is much older than Colourblind. I have the Indus Creed CD, but I only have the tape for Colourblind :( So needless to say, I envy u! Not sure if you are aware of this site:
http://www.massdeletion.com/music.html##
Its hosted by Sid and he gives away all the songs from the Colourblind album. You can also watch the videos.
Ashish – Glad you liked the song. I am aware of Table Beat Science.. Through You :-) You sent me a link a while back. Thanks for that!

wow…This is really nice….I even remebered the whole time when I was too young to be permitted to buy a cd and there was no net (atleast for me)….. My friend had a cassette of this… Amazing stuff george…You sounded really nice…The eq of your voice is perfect…very nicely done…Merged with the track..
You copied the 1st vocal track and gave it a difference to make that stereo effect..For this song I would have suggested you to keeo your vocals in centre, 1 track and the harmonies to be wide panned to get that definition more clear…That’s only what I would have done :)
Kudos Man…
Lovely…
Sunny – Cheers to a Musical Life!!!

AJ – Thanks for listening and your kind words man.
Sunny – Great to have a comment from you on this since I made a change to my usual mix style based on your feedback. Glad you liked this one. I was just trying the stereo vocal effect on this one (since i dont normally use it). Will try without it as well. Thanks again man.

Harshan – Thanks a lot for listening even though its not ur genre. I appreciate it!
Janhavee – Thanks for listening and your feedback. Yes this is a really interesting composition both musically and lyrically .I especially love the fusion of the Indian elements like the tabla with the western elements like the guitar.

Does it start with tabla?? I mean I am confused with the beats?? Is it tabla or some other electronic effect?? This is strangely interesting..i cudnt catch up with the lyrics though..but still find it interesting
George Kuruvilla
said
Bhaghyashree – Thanks again for listening. I made this track by using a vocal cut on the original track. The start of the song indeed has a tabla. It might sound a little different because of the vocal cut.
