I am doing this song based on Neha Sharma’s request. My first Hoobastank cover on Muziboo. This song is beautiful lyrically. From a melody perspective, it has a lot of high’s and low’s, which I really enjoy. For those of you who are familiar with the song, I’ve changed the high parts around a bit since I felt it was a bit too plain in the original. For a line as emotional as “And the reason is you”, I felt it could be expressed better than it was in the original and I have tried to do just that.
The video for this song is quite nice too. Hope all of you enjoy this one. Please download the song and listen as there is a BIG difference in quality.

george george… the snare on the backing track sounded annoying particularly the first time i heard this. somehow this recording felt like your voice was being eaten away during eq or playback.
sounded better when i gave it another shot.
ur voice is good, as usual. liked the variation on “the reason is you”. but having heard the songs you been putting up and being a fan of ur voice, i think you can execute it even better! :)

Nice attempt… Well done!! One of my favorite tracks… Good variation tried… I liked the “And the reason is you” change… In the second “And the reason IS you” I felt “Is” was half note less… a little flat, but thats a part of the variation I guess… Overall mixing is good… Wouldn’t get into the details… Keep up the good work… Cheers… \m/

Firstly, thank you so so much for covering this on my request. This is one of my favourite songs, infact that would be an understatement…
Here’s my take on your version of this song—
You are a brilliant singer and we all know that, so goes without saying that the singing part was immaculate. Now a repetition of the original wouldve sounded very monotonous, coz you surely have the capability to replicate it… the variations you introduced and the way you emoted, are what made it sound so fresh and intense.
Not saying for the sake of saying, honestly, now I feel that my ALLTIME favourite song had a scope to sound so much better if Doug would have sung it the way you did!!

Narayan, Sumit, Rashmi – Thanks for listening and really glad u liked it. Sumit, that portion of the song is the most intense portion. It is hard to convey intense emotions like that using falsettos. You have to let it all out :-)

a lot of stuff has been covered here…….but Georgy, knowing u and have listened to ur songs till now, i think the high notes could have been better……the first time i heard u struggling to get the notes right in the lines “and the reason is You”…….sounded a bit pitchy to me…….was not as fluent as u normally sing high…u could’ve tried falsettos with the same variation……then it would have been a lot more mindblowing than at present…….but still good effort….and if Neha, the requestor of this song is happy, then great job…….

AJ – As always I appreciate your tips. The high notes were not meant to sound smooth. It was meant to sound rough. I wanted to portray a certain emotion and if I sang it smooth (using a falsetto or a refined open throated version), it wouldnt have the same effect.
