I consider myself primarily as a western vocalist who likes to dabble around with Hindi/Tamil occasionally. I like to improvise on songs and I feel that it adds some value to a cover as opposed to just doing it as it was in the original. Love harmonies and consider that one of my strengths. From a range perspective, I feel I have a good mid to upper range and a weaker lower range. I feel my voice suits contemporary songs the most. I would like to get better at Hindi and other regional languages in the future as I feel thats where the opportunities lie.

My reason for joining Muziboo was to utilize my God given talent and to see how far it can take me. I have not set any boundaries for myself. Will take things as they come and try to put in my best on each and every project.

Looking forward to hearing everyones thoughts.

Please do continue the chain and each of you please start a discussion on yourself.

George, I have been listening to you ever since I joined Muziboo. Your mid and upper vocal range is just awesome…you can beat the best. You should work on improving your lower range which will enhance your overall range of vocals. I know with western singing, you really dont need much of those lower ranges, but for songs in Indian languages ….you cant escape it. Good luck buddy and its a nice idea to have this discussions ……and get other peoples honest opinion :-)

George,
From a selfish standpoint I wish you would sing more hindi/tamil/malayalam songs. I am a fan of your ability to sing harmonies – will take some coaching from you one of these days :-).
Agree with Harshan, that you should work on your lower range although, contemporary hindi/tamil songs do not seem to require a good lower range.
Areas of improvement for you would be to prevent western influences when singing hindi or other regional language songs. Also expressions/voice modulations could be improved I feel especially when singing Indian language songs.
Good luck for a great future.
-Kumar.

I completely agree to all the great people responded upstairs about you George. For me as a music layman, i can say that u r the best singer on muziboo when it comes to COVER any western song……Your voice speaks a lot about you….Your understanding of any song and then doing it ur own way is the most which strikes me….Even i would want to adapt that quality and attain that dedication someday……I sincerely feel, that when it comes to singing indian classics, u underestimate ur own potential as im sure that u can do a perfect job if you study the song really well….every voice is unique and if u capture the correct feel and emotion of the song, u r through with ur original voice……With whatever i have known you, i feel that u r the one who tries and achieves perfection with ur rendition……So i would encourage you to try some old classics, just try and give it a shot……im a firm believer that every voice has its character and can suit some songs only….not everyone……but i guess u can be choosy when you become a professional……and i wish you become one in the future…………SONU is a very good living example of the same……so try to be versatile in the future and we all will support you……

Good Luck…….
Regards,
AJ

Hey George… First of all, great idea!! Congrats… Your self assessment seems to be perfect and I can’t say anything else but agree with you… I still remember those days when I first heard you (You had a pic with a white T-shirt with some stripes I guess) and I told you that you’ve got great voice… My honest opinion is that you have improved exponentially from that point… I would say you are pretty good with Hindi now as well… The initial pronunciation issues have really reduced to nothing right now…

My action plan for you, for 2009 would be to improve on a little mixing skills too… I recently commented on your pics and I was glad to see that you are pretty well geared up… I record on a Rs. 125/- PC mic dude… Sometimes it does add on to the feel good factor while working on music, if you have good gear… You know what I mean?? I heard your latest track in a hurry… The collaboration one… I wanted to write a detailed comment but didn’t get time or an opportunity to do so… In a nutshell I thought the song could have been mixed in a much better way to add to your efforts…

Bottom Line: You have shown great improvements… Continue in the same way and master on newer skills… Keep up the good work and keep rocking!! Cheers… \m/
