The genre of Ashram features a pan-India sub continental collection of folk/sufi/musafir/baul/boatman/semi classical and more. It covers a wide musical spectrum, ranging from Bulleh Shah (Pakistan) to Lalon Fakir (Bangladesh), blended with post modern digital expression. Ashram reveals the aesthetics of contemporary Central Asia, a blend of quaint mystic spiritual music and 01 digital art of today and tomorrow.
Ashram is a four member band:
Ritoban : Drums, Asian & Latin Percussion
Kanishka : Keyboards, Synth, Laptop
Sukanti : Guitar
Anushree : Vocals.
With a good 8 to 17 years of professional industry experience, each member is accomplished with his/her own musical style/genre and is a vibrant face in the music circuit.
