NVK Sir, I very good attempt. As usual you are flawless with the melody and notes. It felt like this how it would have sounded if Jagjit Singh had sung this song.
One suggestion I have while singing Kishore Kumar songs is – sing with a full throat when you are singing the high notes, let your voice go, you will need to step back from the mic when you do that. I felt you held back your voice on the high notes, which suits the Jagjit Singh style very well because it is all soothing singing, but with Kishore it is all about modulations….Deep low notes, soft mid notes and full throated high notes.
I hope you dont mind my suggestion, I am not as perfect as you with my singing, but I feel I have some experience with Kishore Kumar songs, and so I dared make the suggestion :-)

NVK sir, I like your version, it is how Jagjit saab would have sung this number. Loved the subtleness in your voice and it sounds refreshing for this number, compare to Kishore da’s full throated versions.

Hi NVK sir,
Ok Will tell you where I felt it wasnt the way it should have been sung , I felt you restrained yourself from going all the way when you sang the line " Hamein jo “tumhaaaraaa” sahaara na milta" and " Tumhe dekh"ke tho" "……What I liked about kishoreji’s songs is that he never controlled his voice when he went for higher notes…if you listen to O Maanjhi re you would come to know sir…but I know it’s almost impossible to do what he did , coz we dont have his voice quality…

Hi Krishnan sir,
How you doing? I have started as if I was writing a mail….I have heard kishoreji , Rafiji talking and singing live so have you. Kishoreji never controlled his voice even while singing live, same for Rafi Saab….Recording and other sound editing techniques are used now a days to make singers sound better not then. Whatever Rafi saab and Kishore ji did then is impossible for today’s singers and the reason is the voice quality.Now a days the only singer who can match their voice quality to an extent is Udit narayan.
