NVK sir ….great song and great singing. Agree that this ktrack was not all that good, the arrangement was not similar to the original. Also felt that some lines were sung in a different tune, I could be wrong as I am talking from my old memory of this song:-).

NVK saab… I’ve long been an admirer of your singing, of your voice and of your dedication and ability to get into a song. This was yet another example. Wonderful!

Mukesh and this song – tough act to follow. He sings with this perceived simplicity that makes it hard to imitate without accidentally adding a harkat or two. Besides they did not at all take away the beauty of your singing and the song.

However, as you know, I do have a die-hard Mukesh ‘fan’at home who probably will not post his comments!

I thoroughly enjoyed it – right thru.

Sir, there is a brilliant Pakistani singer called Habib Wali Mohammad. Your voice in this song sounds very close to him.

Do see if you can try one of Mirza Ghalib’s ghazals sung by him. Will try and get you the track, though the k-track might be impossible.

Nice song in Yamam kalyan NVK. You have sung it very well. Cannot fault anything in your rendition really and your voice is soothing and the rendering style has the NVK stamp on it!.

The only thing I would like to contribute to your marvellous musical odyssey is the following: Instead of gliding through those little sangadhis comprising of 3 or 4 notes with apparent ease, you could highlight and showcase those sangadhis for the listeners with more punch. This will bring more clarity to your vocal and get rid of the micro vibratos that seem to be present. Actually there is not much left of this since your earlier renditions. I think the key is making the sangathis quite pronounced and grasping that ending note with a tight hold!. Hopefully you got what I mean. It’s a bit like cosmetic surgery to further eliminate unwanted stuff, only to bring out the good stuff to prominence.

Everything else is superb and the charm of your singing is unmistakable and soothing. Just telling you what I felt, hopefully it makes sense!. :-)

Never a great fan of Mukesh. IMHO, he is one of those singers with limited talent but managed to find great appreciation. But once again like Kumar Sanu he enjoyed the fortune of gracing some wonderful tunes. This song is a personal favorite of mine and your tone beautifully flowers into it although I find some uncertainty or quiver in many places. To my ears, your tone and delivery are far superior to the original.
