First of all its one of my fav Ghazals of Jagjith Saab…. Music was a bit different from the original. I play this song every night before going to bed, it soothes my mind.

NVK sir you are back to my fav genre. Awesome singing sir, I really liked your improvisations and yes you made it your own. Mixing could have been better, “Ke Khud Hi Shamma” (I didn’t like the way you mixed this part).

Rest was pure magic, loved it.

Hi Krishnan….just heard this nice one. Your voice suits ghazals no doubt and very nicely rendered. You have the touches required for ghazal singing and that is not easy!. You seem to have a natural flair for it and a very nice voice.

Actually it was totally professional except the fractionals here and there that were heard. Minor but for ghazal singing one needs perfect sur I think.

Here is what I found out recently which I would like to share with everybody here for better performances:
- Most of us have to sing with out headphones on which is perfectly fine.
- BUT, we should not monitor (hear) the song via the same headphones.
- Instead, do your monitoring via a good pair of studio speakers that are transparent and ‘flat’.
- What you missed in the headphones will become apparent via distance hearing via monitor speakers.
- Headphones is just too close to the ear to really pick up fractionals especially after a performance when your ears are already ‘tired’ as a result of the headphones.

This is a general tip to eliminate fractionals as much as possible. You can even keep the monitors at low volume and audit your performance.

I am sharing this as I have been victim of this recently.

I haven’t heard the original but I really liked the soft n subtle harquats u have used. Perfectly suits the mood of the song :)
You sound a lil off pitch when you sing “bhujgayi” first time. Overall it is very nice and soothing! Great vocals …. :) 5/5.

Rendering with its feelings absorbed in our voice is the challenge to sing a Gazal. You have done it in this song. I have not heared the original. But you have beautifully rendered it with great feeling… congrat…
