Yes – I agree with you – the volume level for the voice (could be a tad high).
But about the Feel — the lyrics, by themselves, are powerfully expressive so I wanted to be very subtle with my own expressions (i didn’t want to over do).

Very well sung! But having heard to other recordings of your I felt that there was something slightly missing somewhere… Not sure what I can attribute tht to… Cos if I call it energy, this is not the song to express energy! :) It is not the feel too… Cos the feel is apt for the song… And as you have already mentioned, the tune and the lyrics by themselves are self expressive!
Probably a mixture of all this is what I feel… Still never takes away the charm of your singing and the whole song!
The way you sang “Paadagan” in the pallavi at the end was simply awesome! Loved the way u sang it! :)

In my opinion, this song is trying to convey the “experience of nothingness” in the life of a professionally successful musician (singer).
It is neither sorrow nor happiness but “nothingness”.
Probably you are referring to that ‘sense of nothingness’ that is beyond any possible expressions.
