It has been ages since I listened to this song. It must have created waves amongst teenagers and college-goers when it was released. Arummayaa paadirukkeenga! Track volume was very low but it enhanced the vocals even more.

Both Jolly Abraham & Jency, in their hey-days, used to sing with our orchestra and my humble self also sang with them. Jolly used to sing this very song in some of the programmes & it was quite a hit !
We used to enjoy a lot doing those stage performances !
Jolly, I should say, is a great artist & quite a “jolly” & down-to-earth person who used to be very much lively in such stage programmes !
You have rendered this well in your great voice, which I LIKED !

Arumai…Arumai….Oru Thalai Raagam Mattumalla….Oru Pada Paadalum Kooda….Theagu Avargale, Hope you will cover the rest of the songs one by one… Pazhaya Ninaivugalil Rombave Moozhgi Vitteergaloo…Ungal ovvoru variyilum antha rasanai therinthathu….I used to be bit underage when this film got released….still songs are evergreen to remember… I can recall in the movie after the song….Usha will ask that Shankar has missed her name “Lavanya” in the movie.

Hehe … Theagaraj!… What a song to pull out of the woodwork! I remember this song very well and you did great in rendering it, bringing back memories!. Liked all the mini variations and you sang well Theagaraj … you held the tune well. On a side note, this is a very forward song for its time explaining polyarmory through a song?!. India la enna illa?!

T.Rajendar oru ashtavadhaani without a doubt. enna, vaai & udambu dhaan konjam jaathi. These were evergreen songs and Oru Thalai Ragam was a super duper hit movie. The best and my all time fav is “Idhu Kuzandhai Paadum Thaalaattu”. When the music industry was going all gaga behind Illayaraja, T.R had carved a niche of his own, which is a great achievement.

Coming to the song, great song pick & energy Theaga sir. Manam thirandhu paadi irukkeenga. Probably Kala, Shanthi, Jayanthi, Vasanthi kooda irundhadhaala energy pongiduchhunnu ninaikkiraen :-).

Fantastic composition by TR. His first few movies had fantastic songs. “Nenjam Paadum Pudhiya Raagam” is one of my all time favorites. And I can’t even begin to talk about the film “Mythili Ennai Kaathali” – all of the songs are my favorites.

Unbelievable the way he has gone about his business now (remember Veerasaamy?!!!).
